Sometimes I get locked inside my own Audi, first time I had to climb out through the fucking sun roof.
Cassette deck is around 10-15% too fast and fucks over already fast songs. Steering wheel makes an angry squeek somewhere around 20 degrees of turning to the left from center at low speed. Cant keep the power steering fluid from seeping out of hose fittings despite having them both brand new (hose, clamp, and resevoir) and tightly fit. Causes a burning strange smell on the block where it drops onto. Driver's window is fuckin stuck for some reason. Rear defrost turns on the trunk open light. Is the base slush box instead of the geartronic or manual and is wonk as fuck at that. Trans likes to essentially go neutral at low speeds when im not gassing it and hops into gear somewhat violently when the gas is reapplied. Apparently this is an 01-02 exclusive ~feature~ related to emissions.
I prefer manual windows/locks because electronics seem to break more often.
When my Kadett's manual window broke, it was a pain to replace it. Had to get a complete door, remove the window+pulleys and painstakingly replace my own with it. I didn't take any pictures of it, but here's someone else's door with arrows resembling the pulley system. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/211377/0954d1f0-7957-452c-823a-568437fef491/image.png The wire just goes over a few wheels and that's it. The only thing preventing it from getting tangled is it's own tension.
When the manual window broke on my Geo Tracker I just gutted the inside of the door and screwed a 2x4 in to keep the window up.
Mine needs a 6th gear. The engine has to rev so high it sounds like it's going to detonate at 80MPH Also various interior rattles that are impossible to track down.
4,200rpm at 70 mph, baby. #justmiatathings
Jesus! I'm doing 1900 rpm at 80.
2004 1.2 nissan micra
Oh well, at least you have a tachometer.
Pfft.. almost 8000 RPM here.
Used a friends car the other day, a GM car - had this really annoying thing where if you locked the car through the remote, the fucker would light up the reverse lights. Damn near gave a poor lady who happened to be walking past my car a heart attack the other day. Which goddamn idiot thought that this was a good idea?
My air conditioning system is stuck pointing at the window so that in the winter when I have the heat on my head will be sweating and I can't feel my feet due to the chill. Also there's a CD stuck in the CD player, Also the radio goes to static when you charge your phone. Also my car rumbles when its speed is a multiple of 35 mph. Also at a certain engine rpm all the plastic in my car starts vibrating.
It's the dumbest fucking thing. I looked like an idiot waiting for a Cadillac SRX to back up even though the owner was inside the chinese restaurant for maybe 10 minutes.
I've lost count of how many times I've waited for a stupid fucking GM car to back up due to this.
this F U C K I N G transmission https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110042/6cf8dbd7-1b59-4136-9d17-4af501b6b131/maxresdefault.jpg although the automatic dual clutch tranny has silky smooth unnoticeable gear shifts the fucking thing decides to change gears at the most inane times. sometimes you push the gas pedal and nothing happens, so you press some more and then suddenly the shift comes in and you fly off too fast because you pressed the pedal too far. If feels like a Neural Net AI is changing your gears and it's still figuring things out. everything else if fantastic tho, will buy another ford in 2022.
Ford puts their door locks way back next to my shoulder and makes it inconvenient to unlock a vehicle unless the driver manually does it, especially if my seat is forward or I am wearing a thick coat. Why can't everyone adopt BMW's approach where you just pull the door handle twice.
unpopular focus opinion i've had the DCT act funky like once in 8200 miles
I've got an 86 Thunderchicken and the biggest nitpick I have is that the 302 they were produced with wasn't a roller block because that was reserved for Fords baby the Mustang (difference being 5.0 Windsor SO flat tappet vs HO roller), just feels like a purposely done limitation to keep the Mustang the fronturunner. So my cam options are alot more limited in that regard and conversions are not only a pain in the ass but unreliable, so my only options are to upgrade to a new engine or swap out the block and neither are cheap.
My 2006 1.2 Clio is so weak its ridiculous, can be driving along just barely giving it any gas, then if I put my foot to the floor there's literally no noticeable change, literally feels dangerous any time I have to merge onto the motorway or overtake (cyclists etc). Also there's a weird rumbling that's been there ever since I've had it, that shows up whenever I'm accelerating in low RPMs. Apparently its some belt just rattling a bit, never caused any problems though. That said I'm getting a Golf GTE in a couple months when VW finally actually build it which will be quite an upgrade
Do you have video of said rumbling? If they say it's coming from a belt then the belt isn't on their straight or you could have a loose or fucked up pulley.
No don't have a video, it's basically just a quiet ish rumbling noise, the kind you'd expect from a belt just being a little too loose. I'm not sure exactly, but I asked the mechanic to sort it out once, which he did and he said it was just a matter of tightening a belt a bit, but it came back after a while. Like I said it's been there as long as I've had the car (3+ years) and never caused any actual issues, so I'm not really that bothered. And besides, I'll be getting rid of the car in about 2 months anyway.

Something that annoys me, but not about my car, the Takumi Tax.
Buy a slightly different model. Like yeah, every FatF fanboy has a massive boner over the R32-R34 GT-Rs, and so those often cost something like $50,000-$100,000; possibly even more. Or you could get an R33 GTS-T which yeah, has a less aggressive body kit and is only RWD, but they only cost like $10,000. Slightly less for an R32 GTS-T and slightly more for an R34 GT-T.
