I'm not sure what the current sign-up process is, but will there be a 'getting started with the forums' page that lays out how things work, what you'll get banned for, etc?
The old advice of 'lurk before posting' is kind of daunting and blunts the enthusiasm of anybody who wants to interact with a new community, and if the user is coming for advice or support with something they've purchased (Rust, Gmod, etc), lurk first is a weird barrier for us to expect them to deal with
I honestly have no idea whether or not Garry's figured out what he wants to do for direct messaging. He was still trying to figure out how to do it so that private messages were actually private. He said he could see everyone's PMs on the old forums.
I don't think I've ever heavily modded any of my games. Maybe Skyrim? But that was only to enhance the graphics and textures. So I wouldn't be able to say which mod was my favorite. @Hoob is usually in charge of finding me decent mods to try out lol.

How does the coin system in newpunch work? I don't seem to be getting any coins when I post, so I guess there's some other way to get them?
They're time locked. Just being active on the forum over time will generate them. You don't even have to post. You can also get them if someone rates your post coin(1 coin) or diamond(10 coins).
