It's pretty varied, I don't really have any kind of specific diet. I eat what I want, whenever I want, however I want - although I tend to stick to the usual 3 meals a day (mostly 2 meals) including a sandwich in the morning and evening and a hot lunch. Sometimes I grab a snack during work, like a banana or an apple. Most of my food is microwave-dinners or restaurant-food though, which is arguably not the best option but honestly judging by the nutritional facts it's better than anything I could've cooked anyway lmao
Oreos are a blessing
Legit just eat everything. I use to be very very skinny but bulked up a lot by gyming and eating a heap. For breakfast for example I would have a big bowl of oats and muesli, like a massive bowl, and then half an hour later I would eat bacon and eggs with toast etc.
I don't eat over 20-30g carbs personally.
Carbs are life u cray
People are so obsessed with having low carb meals in aus like come on you're not a diebetic. I blame the paleo movement
I do agree that white carbs aren't good for you, void of any nutrition
Stopped consuming dairy because it helps with acne. Im 6"5 and trying to put on lean mass, so most of my food is protein, aiming for 200 grams of protein a day.
Go through almost 10 kg of frozen chicken breast a month. Almost perfected my oven baked chicken wrapped in foil.
I'm sitting at 160 pounds right now and I'm barely taking in two meals at around 600 cals, so I'm coming up short by a few hundred
You might have to just start forcing it. That's what a lot of people (myself included) have to do.
I just feel a lot better when i do it. Every time i have carbs i feel sluggish and slow and i have a relatively foggy mind compared to feeling a lot more sharp when i stick to mostly protiens and fats.
I understand Keto is a thing right now and a lot of people like it, im just accidentally doing it. The nice thing is there are alternative recipes for basically everything thanks to Keto being so hot at the moment.
People need more zinc and fiber in their diets than protein.
You're going to have to source this. Last I checked, you can only get the essential branch chain amino acids from protein, not from fiber.
I should have worded this better.
What I meant is, a lot of people lack fiber and zinc in their diets over protein. Theres so much protein in everything nowadays that it really isnt hard to get it in.
Not many people go out of their way to eat foods rich in fiber and zinc. (As well as Vitamin D - unless you live in hot places that get year round sun)
Oh, yeah, in that case, I completely wholeheartedly agree. You need more than just protein, carbs, and fats.
Count calories, find your TDEE and eat 250kcal over target. Liquid calories help. Blend dry oats with yogurt, protein powder, oil, whatever. Doesn't have to be comfortable to eat all the time, but it'll get easier with time.
I had no idea how much fibre I was missing until I changed to a vegan diet. My stomach took a couple of weeks to adjust lol
What happened with you with your stomache?
I am having issues coming up on my first year as vegan. I lost a lot of weight that i didnt mean to lose and i was keeping track of how much ive been using the bathroom
Oh nothing bad, just had to shit 2 to 3 times a day. It settled down after a week when I got used to the added fibre.
That sounds really bad man sorry to hear. I went through a bit of depression a couple years ago and saw a psychologist for a few months which really helped me get through it. Hope everything is going ok.
I eat exclusively chicken, broccoli and rice
fight me
Vegan diets don't work for everyone. There's protein in plants and plant material, but not all of it is bio-available to your body due to your gut flora, or genetic differences from your ethnic background. These things do actually apply to diets in weird ways that are important to look at.
We live in a very curious time for nutrition science, as a lot of things are changing as we look at new data and new information. General rules are stay away from sugar and refined carbohydrates as your body will essentially turn those into sugar as well, and eat nutrient rich vegetables. Meat is the easiest way to get protein, and the most efficient for most peoples bodies but there are other sources, you just have to look at what your body can actually turn into protein. We're frugovores with one stomach, we're not like cows or deer, we don't have the ability to turn all that plant protein we eat into meat protein.

I've been eating too much peanut butter so going to have a go making almond butter, I need a healthier alternative when I get cravings haha
Shoulder cuts of steak
Bacon and egg sandwiches
Basically, anything that fries and has lots of oil in it. Yum yum.
Hate to be that guy, but make sure you get your cholesterol tested from time to time lol. You'll probably be fine, I use to eat a lot of fried food and mine was always fine, but it's always good to get the internals checked
I actually read once that lean people such as myself are actually of higher risk of cardiovascular problems, as well as diabeetus, so I was more jesting than anything. I think our inability to see the ruination we're putting our bodies through is the main reason for our greater risk of fat related ailments.
Yeah heart disease and diabetes is scary stuff, especially with how prevalent it is in the western world when it really shouldn't be. And so much is down to diet 😕
Made my almond butter, roasted it for too long so it tastes a little burnt, but pretty good none the less
I've finally set myself to start lifting and eat better - first I want to lose some extra pounds I put on in a really stressful time. It's a bit hard as I'm an art student living in an attic with access only to a poorly equipped kitchenette, but I am trying.
I'm 6'5", and I'm roughly eating a 500 calorie deficit starting this week including whey protein, while lifting 3 times a week and walking everywhere. Also my schoolwork is fairly physical and I've started playing basketball with some friends some nights.
I do have the weird creeping suspicion I am not counting calories correctly but I've been pretty fastidious (aiming for under 1900 per day). We'll see if I can stick to all this - taking it a day at a time.
I don't look at how much percentage of a certain ingredient my food has.
Like I try not to eat a lot of fatty, salty and sugary foods, but I don't care about shit like carbohydrates and protein.
I once went to a burger place and a chick ordered a large chips instead of a burger because she didn't want to eat the carbs of a bun I shit you not
