Recap: we have switched to a new forum system to get away from the limitations of vB. The new forum system now has all the limitations of vB, less functionality as it is still lacking basic features every other forum software takes for granted, and no discernable advantages. What was the point of all this?

why the fuck is every megatread locked now?
Megathreads are evil and destroy forums by giving people a coherent, organized way to share information
Cause Garry doesn't want Megathreads. He wants smaller threads for each discussion.
90% of discussions are going to die out anyway, leaving a bunch of threads no one uses.
At least having one thread doesn't clutter the forums.
But since Garry's only reason for doing half the stuff he does because he "doesn't like it", you're going to have a dozen threads cluttering up the forums for one thing.
What are the requirements for an autolock? Right now it seems random.
I don't really get the point of consolidating all notifications into one tab, personally. Each tab being a separate box meant I could know if it's something important or not. Reached level 16? Yeah, fine. Click it to make it go away. Someone rated my post? Cool, not that important, but it's getting attention. Someone REPLIED to my post? That's actually kinda important since I'm invested in the discussion at the point that I make a post.
Instead I have to have that thing constantly fill up because someone rated my two month old LMAO Pics post funny, and I have to check it all the same. Isn't this exactly what people were bitching about during the Great Communication Fuckup of 2018 when megathreads were supposedly being axed? With previously contained instances of posts instead being vomited out en-masse, requiring you to sort through them instead of just checking in every now and then to a space that you already know contains what you want/need to see?
The post count cap is somewhere south of 1k.
If they could at LEAST give some sort of notice when they are going to change something we wouldnt be so damm confused why shit that used to be here is now gone and why threads are getting auto locked now, every update is just working really hard to drive me away from FP

Garry doesn't like megathreads even though basically everyone told him that it was a stupid fucking idea. And then they didn't bother fixing the subforums anyways leaving every forum a mess of unfiltered sections (Sections which don't make sense, like still why the fuck is there a Mario Subforum).
Someone has to post in it to trigger it. It will be locked on the next post

I can get used to the way it is now, but I do sort of prefer how they were separated. Having it all together is a little difficult for me to parse sometimes.
