There are a few ways to get in contact with a moderator, whether it be posting here on the forums and using the ping feature or going over to Discord to use the "forum-reports" channel that we have.
There's no reason to flame another user in return, whether it was deserved or not.
The fact that you have to go to a completely different place to report someone is baffling. You can report someone or even PM a mod.
We don't have a report or PM feature at the moment. Discord is a temporary work-around.
But the ping feature is fully functional and everyone should know that it exists by now.

let's be honest. there's not one single redeeming quality about the new forums' layout. forums might be a relative thing of the past with the rise of discord and other forms of social media, but the majority of us that use the forums use the forums for a reason. i'm not sure if the update(s) have made people leave, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people packed up and left--at least the ones that could log in to their own accounts.
the updates are completely needless. what happened to the ability to disable ratings? nobody gives a shit about those. I don't want to see them. the coin system is a gimmick that really has no place at all either. I paid good money for my title prior to the update. Where's my money at??? I was never told that some shitty forum update would throw away a service I've already paid for. Give me back my money faggots
I shouldn't have to list the errors with this forum layout, but there is literally not a single redeeming quality about this site at all any more. the threads are a complete clusterfuck when you browse a forum and the organization isn't even there at all. you have no way to track posts like you could before. almost any form of user accessibility is just gone. It's almost as if garry just picked the first thing he saw on wix.com and used that as the template for his new layout without even asking anybody, or even testing it himself
I obviously don't speak for everybody. I don't give a shit about anything other than the general games forum, which is now completely downtrodden with shitty source filmmaker threads, DND roleplay sessions and garry's mod fan fiction. I'm sure with the simplification of all of the forums, though, they're all just as annoying inaccessible too

I'm pretty sure you lost any whinging privileges when you got permabanned a few years back. It's almost shocking how little your posts have changed in that time.
@Pascall not sure if this is possible but, considering people are getting banned for not reporting and instead engaging perhaps it would be a good idea to include a brief set of instructions on how to report a post in the rules section. Until a report system gets implemented of course.

Wait so does this mean that replying instead of reporting isn't bannable offence anymore? In that case I don't care, I just think that if it's bannable then there should be some attempt to inform users in the rules section but idk.

When Rust was moved to it's own forum it was the best thing ever. Now we're grouped together again.

The bots r still squatting in the old forums. garry ought to serve them the eviction notice soon so they come over.
I miss the event log on profiles, it was nice being able to quickly find out why a user was banned.
You can always ctrl+F the event log but yeah I miss this feature too. I don't want to have to rely on Wikipunch for ban history.
Go to the banned user's profile and look thru their posts, usually close to the their latest.
Still, ban history was kinda fun to peek through.
Ban history was a pretty good way of telling what kind of poster someone was.
I am not so sure about that ..
It does still exist, but locked to moderator tools. Not sure if garry wants them viewable for all tho. Would like the general event log per person to return imo.
