It's always been the opposite for me. It's the hobbyists that know what it's like to deal with shitty cyclists so they try not to be shitty while the guys who have never had a car are breaking all the rules

I always used to be like "Motorists who hate cyclists are just being assholes," until I actually started driving. I'm happy to share the road, but if you want to use it as a vehicle, you don't get to pick and choose which rules apply to you.
