A crossover is just a smushed SUV.
I mean yeah that’s understandable for cars, but turbodiesels absolutely make sense in utilities. If Ford in Australia replaced the 2.2L and 3.2L turbodiesels in the Ranger with the 2.3L EcoBoost, probably no one would buy the Ranger anymore. Hell, Ford could offer a V8 engine in the Ranger, and yet probably no one here
Ironically diesels were not popular, if available at all, in midsize trucks but Ford and GM are already putting new 3.0L diesels in their full-size trucks for 2018/2019. Also we inferior Yanks are mostly unable to drive manual so they stopped selling them with sticks.
A crossover is a wagon pretending it's something that it's not. It's a 40-something single dad dying his hair and putting on tight jeans to pick up single women at the local applebees. Somewhere in a different timeline we got the Ford fusion wagon like europe did instead of the god-ugly Ford Flex which looks like the designer made 3 cuts off the block of modeling clay and spent the rest of the night drinking gin straight from the bottle.
I want a Mondeo/Fusion wagon so badly.
The Ford F150 is the best selling vehicles in the America, how is Ford's relevance in the US market even a question?
Seriously- SUVs and CUVs can get off the road entirely for all I care. Where's the true station wagons like the mid 2000s Mazda6 wagon and late-90s foresters? Large vehicles are a detriment to everyone else on the road unless you're also in a large vehicle.
We've got a '17 Explorer and none of us feel exactly great driving because it feels so god damn wide. Ever since we lost the '04 Explorer last year I've just driven our Lexus ES when I get the chance.
serious question, minus the wideness, what do you think of it? (And what trim) once they come out with the MY2020 refresh and I've got the saved up cash/income for it, I'm thinking I might flip my focus into an explorer ST
I fucking hate crossovers/SUV's and the only way I'll ever own one is if it's a brand new Range Rover.
The Fusion is a really sexy car. It looks like an affordable Aston Martin.
I had a rental AWD titanium fusion a couple months ago and I loved it for what it is
That's kind of shocking really. That leaves GM for american made passenger cars. No one wants that. (Fiat/Chry doesn't count, their passenger cars are awful and no one buys them.) Like Ford, the only good things they make are their sports cars and trucks. Honestly, it would be best if GM pulled all their passenger cars too, and let the japanese cars do it. They're generally superior not only in price but reliability and longevity. And us americans can keep on making what we're good at - trucks and sports cars.

I highly doubt they're going to kill off the Explorer & F150.
Even though the Foxbody Mustangs were on, well the Fox platform which was NOT developed for the Mustang? People ate those up.
Oh hey thread bump, now I can reply Trim is XLT. Outside of wideness it's a fairly decent car. Definitely drives smoother than the truck based Explorers, and the 4WD system can handle snow really well. On the plus side the thing sounds like a fucking Mustang when it revs. Wonder why? It's the exact same engine Also god help us when the Explorer ST comes (and it is coming) I do miss my truck Explorer, hopefull the '20 Bronco can pick up where the MY2010 Explorer left off. With less tranny issues.
oh believe me i'm already jonesing for the ExST
