I don't know dude, that sounds a lot like "dealing with death" to me? Like unless you're saying there's some correct, rational way to deal with death, it seems to me that it's an alright way to go about it.
Children are too special.
When you think of the thematics; this boy went out on a personal journey to find out if his father will be okay. He went out and searched for an answer only a complete stranger could provide; because he just couldn't handle not knowing.
I mean if you are atheist good for you, but don't go around telling people 'ha there is no god see big bang is true, richard dawkins blah blah' like some preteen militant atheist.
There's no need to be an asshole just because you don't believe in something.
I'm not sure if you mean this in a general sense or directed towards me specifically, but in any case, Religious or not, don't shove it in the faces of others, let them decide.
And don't practically indoctrinate kids from an early age either, making it seem like that's the only way to live.
