I don't know where else to put this but was it always a thing that if you highlight part of a persons post that's how you can quote only sections of it? Example:
My life is changed
I don't like sympathy
I hate seeing how much it gets used on anything in LMAO pics with literally any semblance to dark humor
I don't like seeing the frowny faces
Just use heart if you must

I'm going to go through this thread later today and have a look at which points have been raised; then I'll discuss it with moderators and compile a requests list / roadmap
Make quoted text editable. Sometimes I only want to address a particular section of someone's post, and there's no need to quote the entire post for that one section.
Just highlight that particular section and hit quote
I'm not sure how best to explain this, but I often browse by clicking Mouse 3 and allowing the page to slowly scroll without me having to produce further input, but I have noticed that the embedded things such as news articles cause this to stop working properly as I'm scrolling over them, and whilst it may be considered a niche complaint, I find it quite frustrating.
I can't think of anything else right now, but I do actually think the new forum is much better, especially because of the ability to add additional quotes to posts easily, so I appreciate the work that's been done on it.
PS: It'd be nice to be able to use bold, italics, etc. on quotes.
Garry made it uneditable for a reason. What that reason is was never explained and it seems baffling to me, but he claims to have reasons.
If you highlight a part of a post and hit quote it'll only quote the highlighted part.
I would still prefer we had the old quotes where we could edit everything though. If you were concerned people were trying to slander someone by editing what they said you could always just follow the link to their post to check.
This seems like a very counter-intuitive design, but I guess it will work for now. Thanks!
i really miss being able to leave comments on peoples profiles
User history on their profile like on oldpunch, sometimes you see someone banned and you don't know why.
Fix code tags and image tags being undeletable
Make tags appear in the editor again
Get a private messaging system back
Custom hidden forums, like usergroups but user editable
Minigames that you can play versus other people with coins
I've sent a list to garry, he said he's going to work on the forums on Monday 28th.
Includes (but not limited to) the following requests;
Reverting / making the subforum change optional. Possibility of adding filters
Report button
New user thread creation restrictions
Layout not displaying properly on mobiles
Various post issues, quotes, code tags, embeds, etc.
Ticker system to allow Moderators to post messages, also possibly even allow people to pay for messages using coins
Longer thread titles and the ability to rename them
Various moderation tool requests / changes / fixes
I picked these because I see them as essential to the running of the forum and they're the most requested features by people. Don't be dissuaded if your suggestion isn't included, it may still get added but at a later date.
Thank you, Hezzy.
BBCODE editor and to eppend to said editor, [noparse] tags to show tag examples and also to allow emoticons to be typed as plain text instead of images.
Moar news bring on the bots.
.....a bit weird of an idea, but since images are now displayed in latest threads...could we possibly get an image shoutbox or something? This way people can put images on there without clogging up the forums?
remove image preview thing
bring back the news node
but what about the popular threads page?
Still can't delete quotes on mobile after the last change
I've asked for a popular threads list in the left sidebar
This is still coming
While on the topic of subforums, I would like to re-propose my idea of forum users using coins to crowdfund custom subforums/filters/etc as I think it might help aggregate better thread creation if people have subforums with topics they are more passionate about, as opposed to random categories (some of which people are passionate about, others of which are niche).
Make Jaykin' Bacon Episode 3 a subforum under Games; I don't know why it's got its own section
Bring back News Node - I miss my gaming news, despite people complaining about the news bots
Change quoting back to the old way - the current way is really weird and ugly
Make text wrap properly - does anyone know if there's a way to make the current method compatible with the mobile design css?
Postal's dog relates emotes. (And maybe some others back from oldpunch)
-Revert the game sections back, remove all the sections. Gaming section right now is just pure clutter.
-Make more threads show per page. Threads get buried way too quick.
-Optimize the mobile version.
-Make quotes editable
-Automatically push the word to the next line if it doesn't fit inside the margins of the text box (wrapping). It's such a basic feature and it's so so so so so fucking annoying to see it not happening. (IT'S HAPPENING RIGHT HERE GDI)
-Report Feature. There was this one racially charged thread in Sensationalist Headline that reminded me why we really really need it.
-Allow the user to see the history of previous alerts.
-Change quoting back to the old way
quotes need a big change
-word wrap
-subforum filters
-empty white space after threads shouldn't be clickable
-mobile is slow, takes me up to 10 seconds to load pages
-backgrounds aren't aligned on full-width mode
