It was a joke on the show handling heavy and depressing topics.
Amazon is pretty close to signing a deal, apparently Bezos was pretty pissed at Sy-Fy and wanted the rights for the show from the start.
I was beyond pissed when they canned Dark Matter, esp. when they had a lot of other shows taking up the budget that had MUCH lower viewership that got renewed anyway. How about, SyFy, you STOP producing money shitting shows that very few people watch, and start renewing shows that people actually enjoy?
