The BF1 trailer(s) also capitalised well on the fact it was a WW1 game, which we haven't really seen before and with every Battlefield entry for the 10 years before it being modern era, that was super interesting.
I know barely anything actual military vehicles or weapons, and there's nothing distinct here for me to know what era this is other than the planes. BF1 trailer had biplanes, blimps, horses, a mad looking armoured train, and had actual style.

They literally talked to historians who told them that there wouldn't be any African's at that time. You might have the odd Moor trader pass through but I doubt many Moor's would go that far east.
The complaints about that were just people being morons and trying to revise history to suit their political agenda.

Ehhhhhhh. I was all for customization, but hearing that makes me really question it. Like, it can work, I remember it being fine in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, but I feel like this might be more of a problem.

It was exactly what I expected, and like watching all my fears put to screen. Battlefield is perhaps my favorite video game series of all time, but after the one-two punch of BF1 and this, I think I'm done with Battlefield. I'll still play the eventual open beta, but it has a lot of convincing to do before I consider buying another Battlefield game again.

You got it all, WW2 era weapons in a snowy setting with limited vehicle action (Tanks and aircraft,) but limited modern warfare stuff like an IR optic for the M3 Carbine.
They're clearly trying to experiment with marketing and throwing a metric ton of shit at the wall at once and see what sticks.

The trailer was definitely a mistake since the absolute ridiculousness of COD WW2's train segment are still fresh in people's memories, but I feel like people are making a massive fuss about this for all the wrong reasons and extrapolating like fucking mad from a scripted trailer with a fake UI sprinkled on top.
probably best to not get angry, upset or whatever the trailer makes you and just see how it looks during none scripted gameplay

If everything he says here is true, then this video is less cinematic then some of you think, a lot of the stuff shown in it, the jumping through windows, stumbling, falling, laying on your back and firing are actually game mechanics.
I mean it's obviously staged, but it does show off real things in the game.

This is not what I was expecting for a Battlefield game. Especially those design choices for the WWII soldiers, which look quite similar to the style of Fortnite characters. Coming from BF1, this is quite disappointing, to say the least.
