SJWs are just progressivists gone absolutely nuts, and I say this as a strong progressive. Every group in human culture has its insane outliers, and "SJW" just happens to be the label for that. They are not as numerous as you would think. The only real harm they do is giving conservatives a totem to crucify all liberals on, and let's be real, if SJWs didn't exist, conservatives would just make something up to let them laugh at progressives.

I think I know what you're talking about. I've rolled back most of those opinions. I usually change my opinions after debating them, not during.

Well it's supposed to be a insult, people generally use to get a rise out of another person. Though I've met one or two people who use it ironically/take ownership of it.
When a term is muddied and made useless due to pollution of meaning as is common whenever political subjects are invoked in conversations, it would be preferable to find a new term to better act as a vessel for your meaning so that you have better accuracy in speech and avoid misunderstanding, and perhaps faulty logic. A single person cannot keep at bay the changing meaning of a word.
Not to say the term 'SJW' is nearly in that category just yet (I use it myself, although increasingly more rarely, from time to time) but it sure seems to be getting there.
