It's named after the Vault, and it doesn't get the gameplay across because it's teaser. Most teasers don't show gameplay and instead just... Tease.
The thing that gets me is that Take Me Home, Country Roads is a much newer song than we've experienced in Fallout so far... It was released in 1971, which would be way past the divergence
.
I mean, even in New Vegas with Elvis Presley it's hinted that his music never really caught on in the mainstream, and his peak was around the mid-late 50's.
Maybe they want a newer feel though, I dunno. Someone did point out that there's color television now.
I remain cautiously intrigued.
Now we get to wait for that info to be confirmed by someone that isn't Kotaku.
New Vegas has the song "Heartaches by the Number" which was originally recorded in 1959, but they use the 1980 re-recording for some reason.
I was surprised by how weirded out I was to hear that song with all the Fallout imagery.
It's not like a deal breaker but still just a bit weird - I wonder if it has some intent or is just playing hard and fast with the "rules" established with the Fallout universe.
Probably for audio quality reasons. Might not have been able to get access to an original record that wasn't crappy and/or that they were willing to pay the price to use for a digital re-record.
Jason Schrier is an actual journalist and does good work
I recognize this - and I also recognize that the sources are unnamed and this wouldn't be the first time people posed as other people to 'troll the news'. If their company isn't confirming the info, it's not really verified yet.
It's more likely this than anything else we've heard yet
I get people want to be optimistic for something other than what we've been told, but we're probably getting what we've been told we're getting at this point
honestly even if it was some rust type shit i remain cautiously optimistic. despite konami being scummy as fuck i had fun with MGsurvive
Man when I first saw the trailer to this I was really exited for a moment but all this new rumours about it being a rust-clone really put me down.
The worst part is that whilst they are still fully rumours until confirmed, it saddens my that I can easily believe the rumours now whilst I would have laughed them away a few years ago.
Sure, but in fairness we've heard very little to begin with.
Fallout 76: Wasteland Royale
Will this game have graphics we dont know nothing is comfirmed yet
Fallout 76 is a terrible name for a numerical series of video games, why are you arguing just for the sake of arguing
As much fun as I had with 4, nothing felt feature complete, or really... any effort put into making sure that there was logical flow. There was also a shitload of problems with the weapon customization, especially shit like very obvious weapon types missing, or weird, horribly jank'd together weapon concepts that didn't really work.
Honestly I basically just played it for the settlement stuff, and even then, you have to mod the game to get shit to intersect properly, or to NOT FUCKING HAVE ENEMIES SPAWN INSIDE YOUR BASE.
And don't get me started on the story being a fucking trainwreck. Every faction turns stupid in the end. All of them. Railroad destroys the only equipment that could maintain their people (Or allow them to have children, or... anything), Brotherhood destroys important tech... so does the minutemen.
The Institute is the worst though. Their entire plot is to isolate themselves from the outside world until they're civilized, but actively go out of their way to permanently destabilize the world. It doesn't come off as ironic, it comes off as bad writing.
So what, Its Bethesda is already planned naming of the Vault, this since Vault was already mentioned in Fallout 3, Mothership Zeta DLC and Fallout 4 before release Overwatch.
lol this has nothing to do with overwatch; it was an analogy
But I'm just not seeing why it's inappropriate for a spinoff? It's a spinoff about Vault 76, so why is it a poor choice?
It's not like we're going to have to worry about it getting confused with the 76th mainline Fallout game.
Its another one of those "games as a service"
abandon ship
If this fallout is online multiplayer i'd definitely play it. If it's a mmo that'd be great cause i've been wanting a game in this genre for awhile since fallen earth was released back in like 2010.
Well, Fallout 76 sounds better than Fallout: Battle Royale

Now I get it...
iirc one of hte instrumentals on the other new vegas radio stations was recorded in like, the late 80s
It's almost as if the devs threw in whatever sounded right and kept it in there regardless of lore reasons.
Logo is too clean for it to be a Rust-clone imo.

I think it'll be another management game. Settlement Tycoon anyone?
If 76 is going to focus around settlement building get ready for The Sims tier penny and diming.
