AFAIK the MLS in the US actually does something that would end diving.
If you dive then you're suspended and fined. If that dive resuslted in another player being sent off, then their punishment gets taken away.
Kinda shocking to see this not done in the World Cup, then again you might have a lot of star players suddenly being suspended from play too.
