I wouldn't mind if they included something like Infinity multiplayer in AC7, just without the fuel MTX.
It still annoys me that BF: Bad Company didn't use the song Bad Company.
6 was an excellent game, it had the best graphics, sound design, controls, and AI out of the entire series.
Excuse me? The dialogue is par for the course with the rest of the game, plus the plot was great with the intrigue. The only skippable AC game is AH period.
What is this Belkan propaganda?
They're all goofy and cheesy, I will concede and even celebrate that. Ace Combat is amazing, 5's missions are fantastic. The moment I heard "Mr.Cargo" nearly shat myself in laughter. I'd say the intrigue is a bit strong of a word.
AC5's second half basically makes the game so worthwhile. It gets turned up to ten and then it breaks the nob off as it hits 11 when you get to Aces.
Reuniting with Bartlett, and that huge naval fight are also especially powerful. And don't forget the final boss theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mjY6awCr2_c
from the point where your squad is betrayed is where the plot/missions kick it into overdrive.
I STILL haven't started the series because I want to play 4 first, then 5, Zero, 6, and if I'm still really digging it 3 and the others. But the hurdles of emulating 4 and the alternative of tracking down a working ps2 and copy of 4 are making it really hard to get into the series. Ace Combat for a while now has been this series that I want to love, from an outside perspective, but I can't get into it because of one, initial obstacle.
Woo F-35.
You make it sound like you need special connections to the russian mob to buy a used PS2 and Ace Combat 4 from Ebay.
An HD re-release for current-gen in general would be amazing. Emulating the Holy Trinity is much more doable nowadays and I always enjoy replaying them annually, but it's still plagued with some issues, so having an HD re-release, especially maybe around or just a bit after 7 comes out would be a godsend.
AC5 and Zero both emulate perfectly and you can HDify it on the PS2 emulator, AC4 does have a few issues but im fairly sure you can emulate it on software mode perfectly, its wheb you run on hardware mode you have the issues. The most important thing is running on the 1.5 pcsx2. Just do it mate.
5 has issues still, like scan lines and the bipmaps being fucked on the ground. Theres tweaks you have to do, but you can bump the res up to HD easily (unless its the beach landing mission where all the tree sprites cause it to come to a crawl for some reason).
Those issues have been fixed on the dev builds of PCSX2, I only experienced slowdowns when facing water(which IS kind of an big deal, but it's more due to an underpowered PC, I think). Also, if using the resolution scaling, I think you have to go to the graphics options and enable the Wild Arms Offset under HW Hacks, otherwise you might get some lines going across the screen.
Imagine not thinking AC04 > literally everything. MOBIUS 1 THERES A NEW THREAT YOU'VE ALREADY BEEN AWARE OF FOR AT LEAST 5 MINUTES NOW BECAUSE OUR SLOW ASSES TOOK THIS LONG TO CALL YOU ABOUT IT. ALSO YAY MOBIUS 1 IS GONNA SAVE OUR INCOMPETENT ASSES AGAIN!
What made it so great at the time is that an awesome intrigue plot isn't what you would really expect from a game like Ace Combat. You kinda just mindless blow shit up and wreak havoc and the game directly addresses this. I feel like I need to play all of the PS2 games again now, thanks thread.
I was looking at the 2017 trailer to catch up on the series and a noticed this segment: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/109874/7b8b3de3-ea03-4f12-904b-3845c84c384c/image.png Is this saying Erusea is invading USEA again or is it just a sort of replay of the events of 04?
We will head back to Usea (Continent), that's confirmed so far but Osea will be fighting against Erusia and play the world police one more time. Also I am pretty sure that Erusia never invaded or had intended to invade the Central Usean Federation but only San Salvacion and use Stonehenge as a political leverage.
I'm going to have to contest that last bit there about never invading or never intending to because I mean they did get allllll the way to the coast and send bombers over to North Point in AC04.
Where is battle royale
I hope 7 keeps the allied support and dynamic missions thing from 6. Calling in allied support and watching a shitload of missiles zip by you and rain down on everything in front of you was cool.
erusea never invaded another country other than san salvacion. they were able to send bombers to north point because they could use ISAF's abandoned airfields to resupply their bombers after stonehenge forced ISAF to abandon mainland usea. Continental War | Acepedia | FANDOM powered by Wikia
I said it in a thread ages ago, but what I would love to see is what the new Erusian government has to do with whatever ISAF set up after AC04, and whether or not that means this is basically an Osea vs. ISAF proxy war, or Erusea basically recovered again and then told ISAF to fuck off a second time.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A-6-iudKKc0 Already done in Zero.
The fact that erusea has somehow developed a monarchy in the 15ish years since their interim government was established, plus the lines from the 'erusea strikes back' trailer ('the princess encouraged her citizens, she kept the wheels of war turning.' and presumably the princess saying 'is this for erusea? I don't even have a country to call home anymore') make me think that the whole erusean government is a farce as a front for a grey men or awwnb-esque organization if not those exact orgs.
Fuck me, you're right. For some reason I thought they were only fighting in San Salvacion. Sorry about that
They didn't invade any other countries on the mainland, just used the abandoned airbases to hop their planes close enough to attack north point
Have you guys not seen the intro cutscene to AC04 or something?? Of course Erusea invaded everything!
