like videogame reloads.
It was a rescue mission first and foremost, better to have the dropship hot and ready to go in the event they needed to do a quick extraction. Buzzing around the airspace would waste fuel and flying back and forth to the Sulaco would take too long
They did also kinda suffer from conflicting opinions on just what the mission objectives should be. W-Y wanted to bag and tag an alien specimen; CMC wanted to go in, shoot some shit up, and be heroes for surviving civilians; and Ripley was the smart one and just wanted to destroy the planet without even risking a landing.

A human spine for a foregrip? Shit man, that is some disturbing shit. Though,it makes me question if it was effective.
That's metal as fuck.
Please tell me this fake human spine.
Sadly, probably not. ISIS isn't known for pranks and jokes.
They have the tactical sack as a grip, so why wouldn't there be people making similar items? Bones aren't the best materials for foregrips.
yes. In Alien lore androids are extremely expensive, extremely regulated, and pretty much everybody is a spaceracist against them so arming them is the last thing they'd want to do. on a side note though only like one out of the like dozen androids seen on screen alien cannon has ever not completely validated all these beliefs so... they're basically Wayland's personal gestapo, quietly working on their own secret mission directives, keeping track of every crew member and pretty much ready to sacrifice everybody for their own goals.
In the grim darkness of the present...
Gilded in gold, as opposed to being gilded in what?
Blood and bone.
Tactical Verti-Spinegrip™, it's got your back. Sorry.
https://youtu.be/xQ5fj6JyyWc This thing is borderline steampunk on the inside. Also Mark is pretty fun to listen to.
The CSRG Chauchat - the noisiest journal bearing ever devised.
Anvil is the best and if you don't religiously watch every episode as soon as it's released you're living your life wrong
I encountered a Madsen LMG in the wild yesterday https://i.imgur.com/kKsdclF.jpg In the watchtower of the only Danish kind-of concentration-camp, built to prevent Danes getting sent to actual-concentration-camps and save them from that fate. Which worked, sort-of, almost, for some people. Interesting thing about the camp is that it's one of the very few German prison camps that actually follow the 'ideal plan' they made up for prisons, with all the barracks in a semi-circle around a single well-armed watchtower, so you could effectively guard it all from one spot.
It's amazing what 100 years of hindsight can do for a gun like the Chauchat. Pretty cool to see it not hanging up constantly.
The Chauchat was an idea ahead of its time, built with the technology of its time. As Mark pointed out they didn't fully understand the ramifications of using an aluminum heatsink, but they did figure out it could cool a gun. That kind of problem was something of a running theme for French prototype rifles, innovative ideas hampered by what was still largely 19th century infrastructure. I think that's why they end up coming across as so retrofuturistic.
Almost certainly not. Based on my uneducated knowledge, spines are held together by cartilage, and cartilage decomposes. Sections of the spine can move but being dead and dry, movement causes friction and wear. Furthermore since bone is a porous material, there's no good way to affix the bone to the metal that wouldn't cause damage to the structure or make the whole thing fragile.
They probably just stuck a screw through the whole thing without thinking how long it'll last lol

If it works, well, it works.
Cheap,simple and useful enough.
I'd be very concerned about firing those without stabilizing legs.
Vietnamese handbreaks powered by illegal drugs and ancient communist powers negates the recoil and kickback completely.
He's swedish, give him a break.
No they literally break their hands. Works every damn time.
