I prefer an RPG-7 and some C4.

This pic gets me goin, like oof
I never thought I'd see the day where I described a STANAG magwell G3-derivative as sexy, but there it is, that gun is sexy as hell.
I'd give both my kidneys to own one of those.

Here they are without the grenade launcher, in both collapsing and solid stock configurations.
One of the stranger things about the 41 is the magazine release, it's on the left side of the rifle, rather than the bottom like a standard military HK, or the right like an AR or a civilian HK. It also has an AR style bolt release for slapping.
Can't forget this old gold

They still have that fluted chamber though, don't they?
But why would you replace the HK-slap, though? It's the best feature of the design!
That, and the brutal shell-casing launching, which I still think is a CQB-feature to engage multiple targets at once.
IIRC no one makes M203 attachments for airsoft guns, or if they do, ELGMs are easier to find so they're much more common.
No, it's definitely just because he thought it looks cool. Airsoft M203s have been readily available for at least a decade, they're not difficult to find at all.
ELGMs are very uncommon, I don't think I've actually ever even seen an airsoft one in person.

Really?? I've only ever been able to find ELGMs commercially, though I've never seen someone using one either.
It probably depends what country you're living in and what websites you're looking at, but there's at least five airsoft manufacturers making M203s and they're common as dirt.
The only company I can find making ELGMs are VFC and they're listed for about 1.5x the price of most M203s on the one website I can find selling them.
The G41 would've been the main combat rifle of West Germany right?
In a parallel universe where people don't make stupid decisions, yes.
The G41 was trialed by West Germany, Italy, and the US in the early 80s as a potential replacement for the G3, BM59, and M16a2 respectively. But a mixture of political and economic reasons resulted in the US and unified Germany cancelling their plans to adopt new rifles, and the Italians going with the locally designed Beretta AR70/90. Aside from the trials guns a couple countries bought small amounts. Also they do indeed have fluted chambers and rough ejection which probably contributes to the shake.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the wall:

The Wieger STG-940 series was East Germany's modern service rifle that was killed by the fall of the wall.
They were designed for export, but some were allegedly in use by the Stasi before the reunification. Peru and India actually placed orders before the wall fell, but the orders were cancelled by the new German government and most of the rifles were scrapped.
I've not seen any original rifles still floating around, but IO Inc makes or at least made replicas for a while.
Another East German gun for y'all

Very little is known about this, it doesn't even have a known name

The only documentation on it mentions it competing against the Vz58 in Czech assault rifle trials. It's referred to simply as the "7.62 Samopal NDR" or East German 7.62 automatic.

It's obviously Sturmgewehr derived, but firing 7.62x39.

Seems like drone tanks have some time before getting good
So the G-11 is their main battle rifle then?
HK's proposal with the G41 was that it would become the standard rifle, and the G11 would be relegated to a special forces role, KSK, SEALs, etc. Again they proposed that both the US and West Germany do this, they were really pushing the unified front angle.
H&K is all for unified standard weapons as long as they're H&K patterned weapons.
Looking at you MP-7
The MP7 being used by anyone in a world where the P90 exists is probably the weirdest thing out there. I don't think I've ever seen any weapon be quite as utterly destroyed in trials as the MP7.
Okay, maybe the Sergeant York.
Is that Australian pseduo-AUG made by Steyr?
We licensed the AUG design from Steyr and Lithgow produce it domestically.
Okay but who designed the new rifle?
Thales did. It's just a AUG with a slightly different shaped stock and some rails.
They're like any company in that regard really. They favor globalization purely because they stand to profit from it, and consequently only make efforts to further globalization that they stand to directly profit from.
That being said the idea of broader standardization is still an interesting one. The end goal would be something akin to the Exiles units of WW2 like the Free Belgians, Polish Army in the West, the Yugoslav 1st Tank Brigade, and of course the British Imperial forces from Canada, India, Australia, and New Zealand. Armies whose equipment varies primarily in insignia, all responding to a universal high command, while at the lower level still being tactically distinctive.
All the time I was thinking about this thing:
