A holiday I'm organizing with my friends is turning out to be a real fucking headache. I live near London, one of my friends is in Scotland, another in Portugal and the last one in Germany. We've all agreed to take a flight to Edinburgh and make use of my Scottish friends car to drive to his home which is 4 hours away. This all sounds well and good... if only his car didn't fail its MOT. Unfortunately these aren't faults that are easily resolved either, so there's a possibility the car might not be fixed in time for our flight to Edinburgh. Then I thought "no problem, I'll just rent a car for all of us!". Minimum car rental age in the UK seems to be 25, but I'm only 22. Who came up with this stupid age rule? Then I thought we could take buses to my Scottish friends' home, but we have another small trip planned to go to Glasgow for an event. The total amount of money spent on bus tickets would be hilarious and sad at the same time. Then I thought "fuck, it let's buy a cheap ass car under £300". I found a 1.2 liter Fiat Punto near me which seemed ideal, but when I did an insurance quote I was shocked to find that the cheapest annual quote was for £988. What the fuck is wrong with insurance and why is it a legalized scam? I'm so fucking sick of being held back from doing whatever I like because of money.

I watched that infamous Linus iMac Pro video, and now my sidebar and front page are bombarded with cringy clickbait videos like "Samsung PWNED Crapple with this ad (youll stop being an isheep after this!)". Also, almost half of them are over 10 minutes long. Why is that, to fool YouTube algoritms or something?

Why the fuck are people trying to make realistic human robots, they end up looking like uncanny nightmares that aren't fooling anyone. Why can't we get the cute robots from wall-e or something.

So, there is someone I know who is a full on marxist, and who I have had many friendly discussions with about economics and politics. I was totally cool with him - but today during a discussion about how to help people who struggle with pedophilia, he announced that he thinks all pedophiles should be locked away (including those who have yet to act on their desires), and his reasoning was that pedophillia is not a mental disorder, because neuropsychology is bunk..... because you can't really understand the mind under capitalism. Was I right to rage quit the discussion? Because I sure felt like it was about as pointless to continue as trying to convince a creationist that evolutionary science isn't bunk, despite his claim that that comparison was ridiculous. He ha said it himself that he considers Das Kapital to be as fundamentally factual as the Law of Gravity and On the Origin of the Species.

Another Steam thing. I have the following tags blacklisted: Anime, VR, Visual Novel, Battle Royale. What's half of everything steam says I'd like? Those things. I also have games such as PUBG listed as Not interested DO NOT DISPLAY. Yet at least once a week, it recommends the game to me, or puts news on it up in front. What part of not interested and do not display does it not understand?

I told my co-worker, who's been working here for 2 weeks, to quickly clean and return a 26 foot moving van for this couple who came in to pick it up. Mistakenly, i thought it wasn't available, went back to the computer screen , saw that it was available for dispatch and led them to their vehicle. After i give the couple their moving van, i went back to my co-worker and apologized for my mistake. He then got angry, whine about how he had to clean, park and return vehicle(which takes 5 minutes each to do, and he had like 3 vehicle to do) and threatened me to report this to our manager. Go ahead dude. Report me to the manager. I hope i get fired too. Your job is hard? Bruh, by now you should know how to schedule, dispatch, return, create and discuss contracts, rent storage units, deal with angry customer(instead of avoiding them or throwing them into me to deal with) and sell in-store product in your second week. But you're not doing any of that. You're still cleaning the interior of the vehicle until your shift ends(which is 3-4 hours). I've been here for 3 weeks yet there's a reason why the manager schedule me more hours and shift every week compare to you. I even covered 2 people's shift(7 hrs) in my second week So report me dude. I hope you takeover my responsibility too. Good luck dealing with angry customer on the regular.

I have been freaked the fuck out after the past few days. I decided to conduct an experiment on Google's deep learning algorithms for advertising. I hadn't seen a Google Home advertisement on my phone really ever, so I decided to start mentioning Google home in front of my Samsung S8's microphone. I would pretend I was having a conversation about Google Home saying that I wanted it, etc. The next day I started getting frequent Google Home Max advertisements. I'm incredibly afraid of the degradation of privacy for the sake of convenience, but it has been happening for decades so nothing is new.

Two packages my mam ordered "arrived" today and I'm fucking furious about it. The first guy rang the door bell and, for no reason I can imagine, decided to walk all the way to the end of my garden to fill out the "We missed you" thing. I opened the door and was going to go out to get the package when the guy saw my brother's dog and fucking ran away. She was inside with the door closed on her, she couldn't have come near the guy and he jumped in his car and fucked off. Worse, he fucking filed the package to be sent back to the sender rather than filling out a delivery failed form. So now my mam has to go down to the delivery centre before it gets shipped off in the hopes of catching it. Fuck that guy. The second guy decided that the best way to deliver a package to my house was to knock on my neighbours' door (they have a doorbell) and leave the package on the pillar at the end of our gardens. Thanks dickhead, that totally wouldn't have been stolen if my sister didn't hear you. How hard is it to ring a doorbell and wait 30 seconds for someone to answer? I can't fucking teleport down the stairs.

A followup on my previous post about my acquaintance the marxist. I was thinking over the last discussion I had with him, and remembered that he also said that he didn't believe the study that scanned brains of transgender people closely align with their chosen gender identity. This made me really suspicious of his viewpoint, and so I did a quick google search about marxist views on gender dysphoria and mental illness in general. It turns out there is a whole subset of marxist thinking that believes mental illness is by and large a product of capitalism, and the entirety of psychiatry is part of "capitalistic hegemony" and thus evil. This makes me so fucking mad. Marxists are often some of the most pretentious people in existence, believing that everyone else is either evil or brainwashed sheeple. That some of them (including the guy I've been talking too) would give in to pure anti-science ideology makes them no better in my mind than than fundamentalist christians who claim mental illness is a product of sin, and you just need to pray it away. I'm really frustrated that I wasted so much time having discussions with this particular person, when he would likely deny most the mental struggles I've had are anything other than the product of capitalism, rather than a legitimate chemical imbalance that can only be corrected with medicine invented by people working in the mental health industry.

Getting ghosted when the girl is more interested in the "with benefits" part rather than having a meaningful friendship. It really messes with your self worth seeing that they want to be affectionate with you when its convenient for them and ignore you otherwise.
