So I brought it in to a place and they looked at it and said "yeah... It was a little stuck, but nothing really wrong with it." Thankfully, the only thing it cost me was my pride, so ah well.

Feel really stupid, I'm allways wearing secure boots with steel bottom and nose, safety glassed and hearing protection then I do this. Guess I won't be working on the racecar for a bit which sucks, the car needs to be done within 14 days to get it to the livery guy on time.

That actually worked really well!! Didnt know the site finally ran ok on phones so I was avoiding it mostly. Haven't done much interesting stuff this summer either. The garage project got trusses on the 4th on July and I did an oil pan gasket on the Celica since the cork leaked from the day it was new. The biggest news is on my roomie's 2013 Evo. He got it exactly a month ago, and on Friday the 13th (also his birthday) it lost all the even gears on the SST trans. Signs point to a little magnet that acts as a position sensor on the shift fork having come unglued and falling off. So simple, but such a huge and delicate job to repair. When it happened I hit Google hard and sounds like every SST trans ever has had/ is going to experience that problem eventually. Nice moves Getrag. Ive got a few pics and stuff, I'll report back when I get a chance to upload a pic dump! hope you guys are enjoying summer. Nice rust repair smoot!

700r4 is a 4l60, the difference is that there aren't any 700r4s left that haven't been beefed up

The 700R4 Became the 4L60 but the internals were updated slightly over time and i've seen the 4l60's typically last longer than the R4's, and why on earth would you go with a TH400 when the 4L80 is an interally beefed up TH400 with an overdrive gear

because a th400 costs like $50

it's really neato. nothing fancy though mostly just 90's cars like mustangs and sunfires. most of the crap on my truck is from there.
