I was meaning to change my oil, but while driving to the store to get the oil and shit the other day I some how managed to get some kind of fucking magic rock that pierced a good hole in my oil filter. So I get kinda near an o'reilly and my car chimes in, "NO OIL, WHAT THE FUCK BRO." So I'm like, uhh huh? Pulled into the o'reilly parking lot and lo and behold, there's oil all over the under side of my car, I'm thinking the fucking oil pan shit the bed, a gasket, an oil line came loose, fuck man something horrid has gone on here. So I break out the trusty spare liter of oil I keep in the car, and add it, no leaks, wtf. Turn on the car and turn it off after a few seconds to see if I can find the leak, because clearly the issue only happens when the oil is under pressure. Then I realise that clean oil is pouring off the oil filter in a very small amount now, a steady tiny stream. Then I realise no oil is coming from the top of the filter as it would if something was dripping onto the filter, so I look closer and bam, there's the hole. So I loose about a filter's worth of oil in the o'reilly parking lot, and then proceed to replace my filter and add oil, because as far as I care the car's empty of oil now so guess I don't have to drain it. All said and done I calculate it out, had less than half a liter in the engine, seeing as I added 7 liters and we were not even on the high side of acceptable levels, account for the oil the filter eats and it was basically bone fucking dry in there. tl;dr: Remember to change your oil, because you'll be forced to regardless.
My grandma and great grandma both had better couches than that truck. Ayy W124 friendo https://i.imgur.com/i2SfTyK.jpg https://i.imgur.com/0Hg0Ky1.jpg https://i.imgur.com/LqVRMxN.jpg https://i.imgur.com/4Sj2ygs.jpg https://i.imgur.com/5acedEg.jpg Picked mine up for $800 with all of the books and a bunch of receipts in the glovebox. It's an 88 300E with 132974 miles. It's got some stuff wrong with it, like the AC not working but I like it. Go here for more details: https://www.benzworld.org/forums/w124-e-ce-d-td-class/3001221-cabrals-800-1988-300e.html#post17532745
I mean, to be fair you're comparing a whole assembly to bulbs.
He had to replace the assembly because it's a sealed unit, you can't service it at all. When one part of it dies the whole thing's junk unless you're a microelectronics service wizard
Ah. I was thinking about my car ('17 VW) where it does have one non-serviceable bulb, but the main bulbs for brake/signal are replaceable. Seriously if the non-serviceable one went out I wouldn't even care much.
323f Astina/Lantis came with 1.5L, 1.8L (same as Miata), and 2.0L V6 Got the 1.8L though for simplicity and it's easier to work on. I've heard some people say it's essentially a four door hatch FWD miata/MX-5
strap one of those miata supercharger kits on it
The screen in my dad's 2015 Lariat stopped working. Checked the fuse and it was fine so now I'm unplugging the battery to see if that works. Having a lot of problems with that truck for having barely any miles on it. Previously the driver door was getting loose and losing it's seal. Would torque it down and it would eventually loosen again. Even took it to the dealership to see if they had some special shit to do it and the guy laughed and came out with a wrench, torqued it down, and said that should do it. Guess what? It got lose again. Such is life as a Ford owner.

I just put a new transmission in my Suburban. 700 new from chevy, 600 to install it. She'll be good for another quarter million hopefully. Body is straight as fuck and the engine pulls like a raped horse.
Anyone know if the rear rotors on a Dodge Charger should wobble with the wheels off? I got some shit under the pads, and had some vibration in the rear at high speed, along with feeling like I'm fighting the breaks, so I went to check it, and yeah there was shit under the pads, but the rear rotors wobble. To my brother and I it looks like the wheel holds the rotor against the hub, but it's still sketchy as hell.
Good pics actually
why the FUCK is my oil light back on I just changed it in June
700 bucks for a transmission is nothing, holy hell ayyyy, PRR bro.
Have you made your monthly donation to the T1 Trust?
i do promo stuff and i'm helping with some related stuff that i can't talk about for them. https://puu.sh/yJyVr/10ee2bd37b.png I did this for the winter newsletter but it got cropped pretty bad. Also for some reason motion blur and displacement on the snow weren't happy with each other, so i had to go with motion blur over nice snow.
Here's some MG progress. I'm still working on getting the orange car able to be worked on without dying of the plague.  So far I've removed only 2 mouse carcasses, but it was plenty dirty.  Drums all off.. wheels now spin freely https://imgur.com/G3rsR4d New wheel cylinders and it appears the rear brakes will be good to go. New masters for the clutch and brakes, too, it appears. https://imgur.com/EqZoPgX D-door didn't shut right or really work at all.. turns out the bottom slider plate you bolt the hinge onto had rusted it's way out of its captive home.. or something. Either way, that needs to be attended to.  https://imgur.com/Urw5hFk Then there was the biggest issue of them all. The filth pit of carpet. Couldn't do any work in the car lie this. https://imgur.com/wOw1fbV So I put on my respirator, removed all the carpets, broke all the seat bolts (lol) and powerwashed the entire car inside and out. I blasted the dash, the all, the errything. No mercy. I also drilled a couple holes in the floor so it drained properly.  https://imgur.com/IGHFXSK https://imgur.com/bjciRFf https://imgur.com/K2fDBKM It's getting to be about time to start getting parts ordered and getting this thing running again.  https://imgur.com/ab8sZvE The bad part is it appears the entire electrical system is toast. I put a battery to it and the only thing it did was turn on the hi beam indicator dimly (did I say that before? I forget). So probably snatch a kwikwire kit or something and just start fresh. It would probably be best to get all that British wiring out of there as it is.
Straight from my local chevy dealer too. The trans in my "Burban wsn't dead, but it was slipping bad and wasn't gonna be much longer before i lost a gear. Ol' girl has 240k on it, and before I had it, my uncle had it. He let is his -teenage- daughters learn to drive on it, so im surprised it lasted this long.
I don't know how it is on a Charger but some cars are like that, rotors aren't secured to the hub by anything other than the caliper and the wheels.
Sorry for hijacking the cars thread and making it a trains thread but what secret things are you doing for them?
well it wouldn't be a secret if i could talk about it now, would it? Might not happen ultimately, but you'll know it when you see it if it goes through.
I mean, we do have a J3a at Strasbourg. It would probably be easier to restore that. Also 1361 is coming back. Exciting times in Railroading

Took 6 hours, but I got my front sway bar in today. Just need to button things up tomorrow. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/111854/7b87fcba-32b9-4e58-ac1d-7756ef2a6196/40572519_2170576659866398_3896417553819369472_n.jpg
wrote off the mitsubishi yesterday, got t boned at an intersection. shunted the rear suspension sideways, I managed to bodge it but it'll never get a warrant of fitness again :c but on the positive side gives me a reason to go get me the almighty holden vl.
Is off the shelf candian tire spray on undercoat fine? I feel like it's too cheap and easy to be good.
Should I buy this piece of junk e46 328i for $600? https://i.imgur.com/q0dVWu0.png Body is shot, but leather interior is great. I'd use it as drift thing. Before you say ewww drift. My other racecar takes a lot of fucking work to go out and have fun with. This would be a way to have fun relatively easy.
Drifting is crazy fun. Do it.
