either that or it's revenge for having the british empire cut back to what is it now. "ha, america thinks its so great, send them the rejects, Rupert!"

reading a bunch of rennlist n stuff its most likely just corrosion
Can corrosion be waxy? I always thought it was this hard powdery sandy stuff
Most likely just a wax that prevents them from corroding on the store shelf since the contact points of coils are pretty damn important.
oops yeah mixed that up, its as Ræv said most likely anti corrosion stuff
Why don't all cars have radiator caps? Found out my Volvo didn't have one, and that the normal way to fill it was to pour some into the reservoir, then wait for it to trickle in, rinse and repeat for a few hours. I mean I just pulled the top hose and filled it through there, no problem, but it's still silly to me.
Haven't posted here in a long while and looking at car in a couple hours: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/245015/0305f7f7-f831-4d0f-a1c8-9b4f0ebba3f7/saab facepunch.png Extremely well cared for extremely well cared for red Saab 93. It's a manual transmission with air conditioning and power steering. Very well-maintained and loved. The car has new brakes and very good tires. Recently serviced and oils been changed. You will be disappointed come and drive it. It is a manual transmission. I do not negotiate price over text or Internet. Please come take a look and test drive  New battery new brakes recently serviced. Trunk struts and hood struts are all new. Guy says he worked with Saabs for 20 years. Not much receipts he has on hand though, but clutch was redone and "major" tune up recently. Not gonna be a daily persay, but a people hauler and reliable backup (current garage is a 1980 Datsun 280ZX, 1985 Kawasaki GPZ 550, and an 1989 Acura Legend Sedan). This Saab would be replacing the Acura when I sell her soon. Any Saab nuts here? I had a Volvo before and neighbor had a 9-3 of the same generation as well.
The great transmission odessy of 2018 is at it's end. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/228931/8c730ee3-481a-4980-9388-934648a4748d/IMG_1530.JPG After four months in development, hopefully it was worth the wait.
It's dielectric grease.
They're nice to drive but Saabs can either be some of the most reliable cars you own or the most unreliable turds ever. I'm saying this as someone who has owned a Saab which I never had any problems with, and my father is a Saab specialist
Yay new toolchest is in. Really happy with it , the workplace looks way cleaner right away. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/223218/ebdeadd6-6310-4287-9a13-cf8daa7ff53a/image.png
2.5k for that box really isn't bad at all. Strap-on is expensive but they are good tools.
living the dream
Looking for some insight here. I recently bought my first vehicle a few months ago. 2002 Toyota Camry. I'm not very savvy when it comes to cars. I let my mother use my car last night and while she was out all four of the power windows stopped working as well as the sunroof. I thought maybe it could be a fuse issue but it looks like each power window uses a different fuse, according to the owner's manual. For that reason I don't think it would be a fuse issue as all four windows + the sunroof stopped working at the same time.  Anyone ever encounter this issue?
are they getting power at all (IE can you hear the motors)
I don't see how 132k miles is risky, it's either a good car or is and has been a pile of junk for a while.
Finally joined an Audi club, met up for some food and went to a few car meets in the area. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235789/b3f4f5d4-c670-46a3-bd31-55a7e82c90ee/20180901_114501.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235789/ef9f0a9e-55cc-4639-a062-b530a61ac19d/40622708_10213880995152040_5149550807334518784_n.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235789/e205d81e-ea39-4405-894d-3c7beb82b0b1/20180901_114517.jpg Also got a lovely AWE Switchpath Exhaust, got the remote afterwords because I found my self revving really high just to open the exhaust valves lol. Also also, sold the JB4 and got a proper APR Stage 1 tune, according to APR should be making 385 Ft lbs and 370 HP...I think I'm mostly done with mods for now...well probably not lol. new: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235789/4e6e262e-5d10-4622-981f-cad21223beb7/20180819_095800.jpg https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235789/069fb547-a52f-4a61-a6af-28076715fb2f/20180730_151515.jpg vs old: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/235789/79c7730a-f82c-4579-b767-245c025ec398/20180728_145155.jpg
https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110416/33ac73fd-8455-4677-a0af-6260f89cbf16/239-1.mp4 Car is and has been dead for some weeks now. I'm pretty sure the fuel pump is the culprit so i just need to get my hands on a new one when i can.
I don't think they are getting any power. No sound at all
so honestly id never thought i'd buy one of these cars, but uh I did 5 spd 1.6, with that fancy as tan and wood interior, 300k on the odometer but she runs bloody good. not as fast as my sigma though! good car for the equivalent of 2k usd B^) https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/229026/c9a852e2-100e-43f0-b0bf-e82f2524acb1/meem.png https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/229026/b632524e-0247-4d2e-8b56-bdc5cb055e4b/41818729_319996435428425_4229592980312293376_n.jpg
Today there must have been one of those mythical car meets on that rarely happen in Australia. Not sure if there was a theme if any; I passed a newer Lotus Elise and later an Esprit V8, but I also passed some 50’s and 60’s Australian and American classics, and later an LJ Torana (hard to tell what kind; might have been a GTR but most likely not an XU-1) and an LX Torana SS A9X - or at least it was an SS dressed to look like an A9X.
pop a new driver's side window control switch panel in. That's the classic symptom. All the power for all 4 motors goes through that switch.
Well the place responsible for this is replacing my engine, suppose it's what I get just wanting to get to the mountains and choosing a random place for a last minute change.
Eyyy, Miata club! Mileage is a little high, imo, but Miatas are usually either really well kept or beaten the shit out of, but that one looks pretty good. Looks like that might technically be a "Eunos" though?" Which makes it extra interesting, imo. Also I feel like that they primarily designed it for non-UK/JDM because... Dat passenger-side handbrake tho
Another year, another V6 "muscle" car rolled in to my backyard https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/57917/62dbb492-3acf-40e0-8a5f-3579217d5ee7/image.png I guess we hit the jackpot and got Cubeman's infamous Challenger also i guess it hurt for the previous owner https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/57917/385cf76f-ed35-49f7-9495-64e9dc074a19/image.png
What's your car game of choice fellas. Mine is definitely Beamng.Drive, where else can i get fully simulated cars, and do drifts around poles with a 2.8l V8 powered AWD Civic Covet? https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/111032/af59a280-6abe-43a8-8bf3-534d5f8fa23e/doriftu.mp4
assetto corsa, tons of mods, some of the best tyre physics, Project Cars 2 for dicking around with friends (mainly showing them how you drive the Nordschleife (real life experience pays dividends)) iRacing if u feel like spending money its most likely the best Sim around (except the damage model fuck that shit)
I really like Burnout Paradise because it feels super good to play and runs on my pocket PC so I can play it anywhere.
I have a ton of hours in BeamNG Drive and My Summer Car.
