I want it
I’d totally buy it if it was 5 large. But 12k is ridiculous.
pretty lit. I am a huge fan of pickup cars
Whoever said the best things in life are free can fuck right off. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/228931/c22ce596-3ceb-4049-9214-836eeb6b6448/IMG_1587.JPG
I can't help but wonder why not run a B5244T3 from a later model year at that point? An extra 7 hp stock and they (supposedly) have better internals in terms of max output before kablooey as well as VVT on the exhaust side.
Gorgeous! I was thinking of saving this 33 GT-R but the money+work factor might mean this isn't a good time. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/237880/2db673e2-3825-45bb-87d7-ed496a5aa1fa/Untitled-1.jpg Might just have to stick to my 34 GT-T, not that im complaining. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/237880/e96e0d45-3ea2-4431-ac26-52ca92a101a1/20181001_125136.jpg
fuck, cars that have oil filler holes that are so fucken shallow that you cant properly use a funnel in it can go and get fucked
My Golf is like that, it's a pain in the ass. If anyone knows of some magic funnel that solves that problem I wouldn't hesitate buying one.

I know there are funnels for Toyotas that screw into the oil cap's threads so that you don't have to hold the funnel. It's more than likely that there are similar ones available for Volkswagen. They're pretty expensive though, maybe $20 apiece.
So uh.. what was it this time
Don't know, they've been doing a lot of roadwork around here, so probably a piece of gravel. I just noticed it while I was trying to clean my windshield after getting the truck inspected.

Have you fired it up yet? You better record the first start.
Not yet. Gotta plug the heater hoses, figure out the electric fan, refinish the headers, do an oil and trans fluid swap since the oil has WD-40 in it and the trans fluid that's in there right now isn't the right stuff, get the vaccum advance hose on, get the power steering pump off (which is easier said than done, fucker's rusted on) and figure out fuel, since i can't just run it by filling the vent tubes like a holley.
Could be worse. The 2018 Harley Softail line has the rear shock adjustment right above the transmission oil plug. you have to disassemble the entire middle section of the bike- which includes computer, battery, fusebox, and oil tank- in order to take the couple nuts off that holds the adjuster in place, JUST TO GET THE PLUG OUT. I fucking facepalmed so hard when I first saw it. Seems like the 2019's fixed that but they sold thousands and thousands of the 18's.

Go for the second coat silver. I think it'll look great.

Here's a question I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere: What the hell did the US military use between the Willy's Jeep and the Humvee?
They used various jeeps right up until '89 operation just cause was the first operation for the HMMWV and also the last operation for the M151A2 (aka the jeep)
a different jeep. the m38 was succeeded by the m151, which was replaced by the hmmwv

Okay here’s something which I would like everyone’s opinion on: A car’s friction brakes should only ever be used for emergencies and coming to a complete stop. Agree? Disagree? There’s really very little need to use the friction brakes if you know how to engine brake effectively. Eg instead of riding the friction brakes down a long ass hill, wearing out the brakes and increasing the likelihood of brake fade, just shift down a gear or too. Coming up to a red light? Let engine braking slow you down. If you keep a 3 second gap to the driver in front of you, engine braking is almost always sufficient to slow your car down without getting too close to the car infront. And you don’t even need to be aggressive with the engine braking, eg I’ll never let the engine spin above 2,000RPM when I do it. Because of that, I rarely need to use my car’s brakes except of course when coming to a complete stop or eg if some ass pulls out infront of me. But I posted about this on r/cars and I got downvoted to hell? Is using engine braking really that unpopular?
A daily commute in a small town can be pretty much done without using your brakes. Or, if you have a car with cruise control, you can sometimes drive for hours, even through towns, without using any pedals.
i wish i lived in gm_flatgrass, only time i ever get to use cruise control is on the Autobahn. otherwise its just mostly braking and accelerating every 5 minutes due to the rather mountainous region i live in. glad i made the jump from manual to dual clutch, its so much more relaxing in stop& go or when youre at the back of a junction
If everyone follows this strategy sure, in the UK unfortunately people are prone to braking in front of you hard and sometimes for no discernible reason. It would also require people to learn how to rev match and not drag the clutch all the time. That said, I generally try to do this. It's much easier (and more common) on motorbikes to mostly engine brake though.
