We don't display tax discs anymore. You pay online and it instantly updates the database. This database is accessible by the public; https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ It also feeds into police systems so they'll know. Even if they did pull you, you could just show your email receipt and that would be sufficient proof (since it's the only way to prove other than the actual database itself)
It's all on computers these days, they no longer issue paper tax discs. If you do actually have tax, insurance you'll be fine A few times I've driven for a month or so without tax when I've forgotten to do it
Well I am from Ireland so they wont have me in DB probably. Still, hopefully email of proof is enough. (Although I read this morning that you don't even need tax in UK if you are there for less than 6 months, as long as you have insurance and NCT/MOT you're ok)
Shitty day, my dad collapsed and died unexpectedly this morning. I tried to do CPR until the ambulance got here but it didn't help. Treasure every moment with your parents guys. Then I scraped my bumper in a car park on a metal barrier.
Shit i'm really sorry man. If you need to message or blow time on steam or something just get in touch.
jesus fucking christ man, that's terrible. im so sorry for your loss.
Goddamn, I'm so sorry to hear this. Hope everything is as well as it can be.
Thanks for all the well wishes guys... It's all just a lot to process right now.
So deliveroo deliver in my area now does anyone actually use it? Does the food arrive cold?
Yeah it's very popular in the cities it's available in. Usually arrives hot / occasionally warm, riders have like....heat reflecting containers to carry stuff in so it doesn't get cold.
I stopped using deliveroo when it was super hot because their delivery drivers looked like they were going to collapse on my doorstep.
So I trimmed down 90% of my plant and it seems like its stopped browning. Whether it's getting better or why it happened is still a mystery.
i spend so much money on deliveroo i feel like im sometimes partially responsible for keeping it alive in my town
I've got one of those expenditure apps. Realised I needed to cut down after it sent me a cute little <You've spent more than 99% of our users on Deliveroo>
Had a phone interview for a job today. Guess it went well because I immediately got invited for an on-site interview in London on Monday
Gotta love old neighbours. I've had all of them come over the last few days to give their condolences because of what happened to my dad. Today I had one come over who decided it was an appropriate time to start telling me about how his VW diesel estate car was cleaner than my Leaf ect... ect... 🙄
I don't even know how to react to this. How do you even arrive at that conclusion?? inb4 hurr durr batteries are made from endangered species and are so toxic
Maybe he'd just cleaned his car?
He was going on about how my exhaust is the big coal smokestacks.
Putting a reduced sticker on a sandwich, but only reducing it by 15p is not okay Co Op you fucking donkeys
Asda can one up that and don't even label half the shit in the reduced section so you don't even know if its on offer.
Ye Tesco too, Piled up wraps in the Reduced section, no labels on them....
Co-Op advertise their meal deals at about £3.25... Meanwhile my "meal deal" cost me £4.50 yesterday. Twats. :V
Buying an off deal product, rookie error...
If you twats could stop breaking the thread that would be grand
I remember when everything in the coop was reduced to like 5 or 10p, all their pastries and stuff every day. They got real stingy real quick.
Nope, they were all at the same priced meal deal spot lol
BT or Plusnet? I'm currently trying to decide between the two as a broadband provider at my partner's addreds and both their offers (£29.99 BT or £33.99 Plusnet) for fibre look solid enough, originally wanted to go with Virgin but they don't offer service to the area yet. I know BT used to throttle speeds at peak hours but apparently they've stopped doing that now? Others say Plusnet doesn't do it either, any experience from either here?
I mean Plusnet is owned by BT so your money goes towards them either way As for BT, judging from my mates experience the internet's great but expect a lot of stress re setting up the line. It's a pain apparently. Also about the throttling:
I have been a Plusnet user for 10+ years (1st with ADSL, now on Fibre). I also have my Telephone with them (since it is cheaper than BT... heh) I have never had any major problems with them, Only 2 Major problems I have had with my Internet\Phone, 1 was due to the muppet in the flat below me ripping my phone line out, And the other was due to BT doing work at the local Box and wiring my Fibre line up to the wrong port after they disconnected it for some reason... Both problems were fixed in a few days after getting in contact with Plusnet and crying at them via phone call. I have never noticed any throttling on my downloads or streaming of Netflix\Amazon\Youtube. And I on average use about 300GB Download per week. Yes there has been Issues with them where things have broke or stopped working for a few hours, But that's just like any other ISP. And in the 10+ years the amount of times it has happened is that low it kind of a meh thing to mention. The only thing I do suggest if you do go with Plusnet is use your own ADSL\Fibre Router. The one they supply is crap (just like all the ISP provided ones)
