I love New Vegas, and you really don't feel like a hero like in 1,2, and 3. Intentional or not game's still dope. TBH I have a strange soft spot for 3 even though I played it after NV.
You're not that great at accepting others opinions are you
Frankly the best possible ending to New Vegas is good in the sense of even if you didn't save the world, you helped people. People with good writing.
well that's unnecessarily hostile... I really like my game worlds to feel real and alive, and being an ultimate hero man can be kind of immersion-breaking in some settings. If the Courier was more of a cut-and-dry hero that solves everything she breathes on, the world wouldn't feel as sophisticated, I think. The Courier's influence is pretty enormous, but she's only one person and the characters and narrative respect that. I think that that lack of absolute influence works really well with the games' themes. My way of looking at worldbuilding isn't any better or worse than yours, it's just different.
it really didn't come off that way at first, I understand why SIRIUS posted that
ive only played new vegas and enjoyed it a lot (although i feel like i played like crap, probably had an underleveled build or something) played a bit of FO4 in a free weekend and i liked it, would love to get it for that new vegas mod thats coming out
We need you for a potentially groundbreaking genetic study. We're going to attempt to isolate the "my idea of fun is the only valid form of fun" gene!
Talkative is not a bad personality trait. I see a lot of people throw around the "they're so annoying because they talk so much!!" but seem flabbergasted when someone suggests they just politely ask them to be quiet. If the talkative person in that scenario continues talking, their bad trait is not that they're talkative, but that they're selfish. Hell, I wish some people in my life would talk more.

Ugh, I'm on mobile so I'm lacking fine control over URLs
On the subject of Fallout. 2D Fallouts are held up on a pedestal by fanboys. Fallout 2 is worse than 1.
Anything more specific?
They/we probably don't because people stuck in bad mental spaces tend to not be aware of the full extent of their situation
Fallout 1 is a better game if you're playing them for the story. Fallout 2 is a better game if you're playing them to fuck around in the wasteland.
Beyoncé's music makes my eardrums want to overdose on anything with the prefix of "oxy". Rihanna's voice makes me want to somehow beat myself to death with a cue ball.
I like secret of mana but its a poorly designed game with frustrating, antifun mechanics.
It's just dance music, it's not meant to be deeply thought about. Also staying away from anything mainstream is a great way to miss out on some really good stuff.
I would be fine with humanity getting destroyed and the planet returning to nature. I just think that the "good" in this world can't win fighting fair whilst the "bad" fights dirty. I'm not saying this to mean "repub bad n demo is good", I'm just talking about the world in general.
Allstar by smash mouth was the best early 2000s song
On the other end of the scale, I care a lot less about non-human life than I do about human life, and I have a very strong tendency to view things like climate change through that lens. I'm primarily concerned about what effects will happen to humans.
wouldn't say best but memes aside it is a really catchy song. helps that shrek was a great movie.
I'm the opposite because humans are stubborn motherfuckers that wont die, and the rest of the ecosystem is very interesting and extremely fragile.
Song kinda lost its flare after play #4012 during the first year it came out. And every movie tried to mooch off its success.
To me it feels like this generation of consoles was a lot like the Shock Master debut. Fell face first right outta the gate then never really recovered. While there are a lot of banger titles exclusive to the Xbone and PS4, the consoles themselves really failed to suck me in until much more recently and that's just with games announced to come out from E3. Before that I owned and played about 5-6 PS4 exclusives and 0 on the Xbone. I bought a Wii U only for Smash 4 and Bayo 2. It's most likely just me that thinks this console generation was a swing and a miss for the most part.
But good and bad are intrinsically human concepts, if humans all die they would die with them. I don't think this is a substanciated claim at all. Life as a whole is extremely resilient, has gone through several major extinction crises and yet has survived. We have yet to survive the impending mass extinction crisis we have triggered. We may think of ourselves as invincible because we're smart but the truth of the matter is that our advanced societies are heavily reliant on our environment staying the same and it only takes failures in the way we grow our food to pull the rug from underneath us. Plenty of species are much more resistant to extreme environmental change than us humans. I wouldn't be so confident that our species could survive civilizational collapse.
yikes, now that is a hot take
Almost every movie that leans on narration for exposition. Show don't tell. It just feels so cheesy when I have to hear a too-close-to-the-mic deep voice dude keep hitting us info where 80% of it has nothing to do with the plot.
people who do not use their feet to pick things up off the ground are less evolutionarily fit than those that do
On the contrary, I feel like fallout nv is one of the fallout games where your actions matter the most. If you go around the wasteland trying to help people, you will get minutes of ending slides detailing how successful or unsuccessful your efforts were in the long run. It feels good to have had an impact on the world even after the game ends, than rather your character just being the plot device that makes the game happen around them whenever they show up. In fo4 for example, it doesn't matter how good or bad a job I did building settlements for people- my ending is still going to be my character having a little cry about not being able to "turn back time" and see his family again. Fuck, half the time the settlers don't even seem to notice you were the one who build their shitty little town anyway "I hope u aint one of those synths!" - bitch I just built ur fucking shack for you, fuckin ingrate. In fallout 3 the game only cares about my karma level, and whether I was dumb enough to "sacrifice myself" to the water purifier.
