They should apply in Mexico, same rules of refugees should apply, you don't country hop until you find the one you like the most. Unless of course we are finally calling Mexico the shithole it really is.
I don't think anyone has ever really said Mexico isn't a shithole itself? It has a serious cartel issue so obviously people fleeing through it from South America aren't going to stop there, it has many of the same issue the country they're fleeing after all. What a moronic thing to say.
It irriates me when people say that they like something 'ironically/unironically'. You either like it or you don't.
If we ever get a new Typing of the Dead (probably Scarlet Dawn), I would like to think that SEGA should sell multiple install licenses for educational institutes.
Turn-based combat is absolutely awful in geneneral
I genuinely hate the turn based gameplay in the original Fallout games. I think the only turn based games I've played that I genuinely enjoyed the combat in rather than just putting up with it for the sake of advancing the plot are the more recent XCOM games, and Divinity 2.
Waluigi isn't that great of a character
Internet forums are inherently less conducive to debates of sufficient depth with mutual understanding when compared to just about any method of instant communication.
If it were up to me, all good endings to games would be the canonical ones toward the sequels. Unless the bad ending is better fleshed out and more interesting.
That is true of both instant and non-instant methods of communication on the internet, namely, that if the person you're "debating" with has no will to ever actually concede points or admit ignorance or argue in good faith then you'll be wasting your time. It really is hard to care about a faceless nobody, yet this categorization is easier to escape from if the communication is being done instantly due to actually feeling like you're talking to a human being and not responding to some dead text with more dead text. What instant communication always affords and other methods lack, no matter how civil the people you're speaking to, is the ability to instantly clarify points and the environment to encourage small, short sentences as opposed to walls of text just being dropped like some pretentious monologue - and when the response to each such sentence or point is instant (or at least quick) then there is much less room for misunderstanding as long as both parties understand that they might be misunderstanding each other. It's hard to assume baselessly when corrections are dropped the moment you're done typing. Besides, there is much less formality involved in free-flowing instant messaging compared to moderated forum posts. While it is true that internet forums for instance allow for chronologically disconnected discussions to continue living on with much ease, as the last post is always waiting there, that is also a possibility in instant messaging if the people you're speaking to are determined enough, and if they're not - well, then clearly whatever discussion you were going to have wouldn't be done with as much enthusiasm anyways. Bickering is a function of the people speaking to each other, miscommunication and misunderstanding are functions of posting culture and methods as well.
Thanking the bus driver should not be a meme.
the gamecube controller is objectively bad
I really like that the canon ending of XCOM: Enemy Unknown is losing in the first few weeks of the game.
I've never heard of it being a meme and the idea of it being one is retarded. It's just common courtesy.
I'm not one for forcing people into identity boxes but sexual identification has reached a strange level. Today I discovered that there is a thing such as omnisexual, which is apparently pansexual except they recognise gender........but then I wonder how it's any different to bisexuality. Without sounding too radical, I genuinely think some people don't understand what sexuality is - you don't create a new sexuality for a different preference. E.G. being interested in only cougars does not mean you have a brand new sexuality. That alone is not really the problem, though there is a problem when people get offended when you don't know what omnisexual etc. even means. Hi, your ''''''sexuality'''''' blurs between several other sexualities, so don't assume I should just know what an allosexual is.
Am I the only one who thinks that there are people who regularly post in Polidicks and are at least slightly mentally unwell and shouldn't go there? Especially with the recent retirement of one of our SC Judges, some people are being a tad overdramatic IMO.
This is entirely subjective, but I find it easier to remember and digest "live" conversation where each sentence is addressed without much moderation and formality so as to maximize the understanding of both parties' points (this is more true in text-based interactions of this sort, due to reading retention). I believe both methods encourage different mindsets when posting: One is of saying your piece in a lengthy post and moving on, dropping a lot of information and replying to others doing the same thing when you feel like it; The other encourages sentences that are easy to digest and understand so as to keep the flow of conversation going properly, and also allows for the freeform typing of sentences one after the other with the idea being kept in mind that it is possible to easily clarify your point later, given that the person you're talking to is right there. In the former, there is the temptation to misunderstand a wide array of points expressed in a very complex post and thus to respond based on such assumptions with an equally long post that too might suffer such a fate, continuing a causal chain of large misunderstandings, while on the other given that the sentences are much shorter and less formal it is possible to tackle them quickly and avoid such spirals that might degenerate the discourse due to a lack of responsibility on behalf of both parties (which sometimes simply is a fact of life when you're some random on the internet speaking to another). In short: One encourages a bunch of monologues in reply to one another, the other genuine dialogue, even if a bit short and unmoderated. Both require responsible and somewhat capable and willing people to be present in order to have any sort of proper debate, but each medium of communication has its inherent biases borne of the nature of the communication method being employed. It is true that the former is closer to the ideal of moderated debates, but I personally do not believe such methods of communication as useful in avoiding the general pitfalls all debate has.
I'm sorry for my hysteria, it's just I respect the Supreme Court and both Trump fucking up the highest court in the land, and Kennedy, who did great things for gay rights, leaving the court is some of the worst news I've seen here since leaving the Paris agreement, was tearing up.
yeah I think BDA needs to chill too
BDA needs to fuckin chill, getting as worked up and taking things as seriously as he does can't be healthy at all. And his long-ass posts pretty much deliver the same "shit's broken, revolution now bois" message every time.
if you aren't planning to leave/staging a coup/wanting to kill yourself then WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU???
This modern idea that getting emotional in a debate = being wrong and that staying detached and non-emotional = right is fucked up
I disagree. If you don't give any supporting reasons in an argument other than the subject making you feel negative emotions (this goes for everything btw), then you shouldn't be surprised when you have a lackluster argument. Sure, it has value in that it's letting others know how you feel about something, but in the context of a debate, it's best to be as cool and calm as possible. What's the point of participating if you plan on being an emotional wreck? It's a bad look.
It's certainly a flawed game, not as good as the original by any means, but it does some things going for it. The music is sill good, there's a decent number of unique weapons (guns AND melee) which isn't something the other games really have, and I actually liked the way factions were handled for the most part.
Yeah, I love the unique weapons system. Shifter mod for DX1 actually adds unique weapons, wish GMDX copied that (and a few other things) from Shifter. The factions are cool too, I really like the Omar guys.
Games that use save slots as limited inventory items actively make the world a worse place to live in
I mean it's funny to laugh, sure. But usually it's driven by people actually having some skin in the game and something they directly stand to lose. If you can't argue to somebody's emotions you're not a good arguer anyways, reason and evidence almost always serve as supplemental justifications to what is emotionally inspired.
He's becoming the opposite of Tudd, probably the most far left person on this forum so far. Also, reddit is just a huge echo chamber
It has nothing to do with being left wing. I'd say I've got even more left leaning positions than BDA. I just know not to be a preachy scumbag
Well true. Nearly every of his post in polidicks is fervently denouncing trump
