Wow, holy shit that's incredible! You're gorgeous, hun!
That's really nice, thanks!! Also accidentally agreed on your post I swear I'm not that vain lol
I came out to my brother today and he was really respectful. It couldn't have gone better. I guess he a dickhead afterall. Its crazy how dense he is though, and even he agrees. It's been 3 weeks since i got my ears pierced and he didn't notice until I pointed them out today. I don't hide them either. He's noticed I take better care of my skin and I look visibly younger from the hormones but hasn't questioned it. I've painted my nails in the same room as him and he hasn't questioned the pill bottles in my desk. That's what surprised me the most. In the past 6 months, he hasn't rummaged through my desk to look for a stapler or whatever. Whenever I go with my mom to Hollywood for HRT, he asks where we're going and we always say to the doctor, but he hasn't asked to come with or for a clarification. It's was really comical at this point, so I decided to tell him today cause I just decided and said, "fuck it, I'll drive you to your job interview, but I really gotta go to my laser appointment at 2:45." and he finally asked for clarification as to why and I happily divulged. Now the only person in my household that doesn't know is my grandma. And I think I'm gonna keep it that way.
Very proud of you, congratulations! I'm glad that's all going well, and honestly kinda laughing that your brother didn't pick up on it. I personally have ideas that my brother my suspect it, but all he's seen is my underwear and socks. It'll be much harder if he ever looks at the pill bottles I'll have here soon. You are way more brave than I am though - could never tell my family.
Oh! There were also times where I was in rush in the morning and had to go to work as soon as possible. I accidentally left my dirty clothes and underwear in plain sight in our shared bathroom after a shower. I spend the whole day panicking and I get home and he just balled them up and placed them on my desk. I suspect he's just on autopilot most of the time and generally unobservant. lmao
I've been debating it but it's so expensive unless my insurance will help cover itm
I'm salary so it's impossible for overtime, and I do college full time so I have no spare time for a second job. I'd love to be able to go without facial stubble, I really would. Losing the darkness on my face even hours after shaving would be a god send. My hair is already long, past my shoulders, so getting this would help - it's just not as easy as I'd like.
Just letting you know, IPL is not Laser Hair Removal. Make sure to get laser, and even beyond that, research what laser the clinic is using to see if it's an effective laser for your skin/hair type. A lot of groupon deals (which you should be using and where you should look first, btw) will be using the crappier lasers and charging way too much for them (hence why you should be careful). Also, call around to beauty clinics and see what their price is for six sessions, as it's cheaper to buy them in bulk. I had six sessions of laser done for 410$. I'm on number four, and in the picture at the top that was me after three sessions. You don't need to spend 1500-2000, especially not for IPL.
Who here wears glasses? I've been trying on pairs on and off, whenever possible, because I really wanna transition (heh) from masculine square styles that I've been wearing for ages. I mainly wear the Persol 2965-V and the 3013-V, but lately I've been drawn to rounder styles. I remember a while back that clear frames were a bit of a trans meme, just like chokers, but I've been really digging them lately with all the changes my face has gone through. Anyway, I've settled on the Oakley Pitchman-R in clear, but I'm also looking at the Tom Ford FT5401 and the Ray-Ban RX7140. https://d26hhearhq0yio.cloudfront.net/content/misterspex/produkte/grafiken/6663616_a2.jpg https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/e9N959VMkmwUhLG-rcSZNvBx8DrgOnW96QRU_ytJN-qOK8ZLmxHfiRFTtfVP5lsjSX_TN_IyE6FkwoCFtUJglm2-=s1200 https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/236357/9d650206-aafe-40c7-b65e-5f9f914c1814/image.png I know the arms on the Oakleys are a bit masc/sporty, but I still think they're pretty cute.
My best advice is use warby parker to trial frame shapes for free then eyebuydirect to buy. Eyebuydirect has a lot of really cute clear frames for really cheap, too!
Warby Parker is super handy for trying on new frame styles. I kinda wish I did that but I needed replacement glasses too quickly to wait for the shipping and stuff so I just popped into my local Lenscrafters and ended up spending way too much lol. I like the Ray Bans I got tho.
anyone else have that oh so common situation wherein being intimate with the person you love makes you feel bad because you both have the wrong sets of genitals
i got myself switched back to spironolactone instead of triptorelin and boom suddenly I have a sex drive again maybe you could look into doing something similar if it bothers you
hmm, that kinda sounds like how I'd define no sex drive tbh like even when I was on triptorellin and said I had 'no sex drive' I still wanted it like once a month
I'm on like 175mg of Venlafaxine HCL which is an antideprresent and I'm pretty sure it has really effected my sex drive as well. In fact it's gotten to the point where it's hard for me to enjoy sex as much as my partner which is a bummer and makes both of us feel down :c I guess that's the price I have to pay to not be cripplingly depressed all the time though lmao. On another note I had a great dream last night where I was fully transitioned and I was going shopping witch my sister and friends it was wonderful I was in this awesome green dress and then I woke up T.T
I never lost my sex drive, but being on Spiro brought it down to regular levels so that I'm able to enjoy the rest of my life a lot more. I don't really want to talk about how bad it was before, but when I originally had my hormones tested I was above the normal range for both testosterone and estrogen which makes me think I actually had some kind of undiagnosed disorder. My current dose is 200mg/day.
I'm really curious on how my sex drive will be changed hearing you guys talk about it. Hell it just gets me excited for all the sorts of changes that are coming my way.
Well it might be TMI, but before HRT, I used to masturbate like twice a day or even more sometimes if I was really bored. You could've called it an addiction, I guess. A couple weeks to a month in, it quickly died down to the point that it's more of an on demand type of thing rather than having an insatiable sex drive. 6 months in, I hardly think about it and sometimes a couple weeks pass and I realize I haven't done it in a while. I feel like it's been a huge weight off my shoulders. I wanna say I've had more time on my hands and that I've been productive, but nah, I'm still as lazy as ever.
Yeah that's what I've heard too. If I ever do go on T, I'd rather have a lower dosage to maybe make the process a little less jarring. I'm ace but I still have kind of a regular libido, I think. Not that it's anything I can't handle, but it is annoying from time to time to get distracted lol.
As an fyi to ya'll trans women, if you miss your sex drive, get some progesterone. My sex drive was dead for a really long time until I started taking it.
Libido is like a clock to me. The longer I go without thinking about it, it worsens by each second. It goes from "eh I'll be fine" for a week or two to wanting to highlight all my kinks in desperation. Thankfully it's not terribly distracting. Not yet
I've not noticed any differences to libido at all and it's coming up to 3 months. I've not actually noticed many changes from HRT in general yet besides my face becoming 'softer', but mentally I am feeling so much better.
ya it took me like 2 years before i noticed a reduction!
I've been watching quite a bit of the Walking Dead lately (if u couldn't tell by my avatar) and honestly I think seeing characters like Heath, Daryl, and Jesus with longer hair makes me a lot better about keeping my long hair. It's silly I know! ! ! but it helps.
before I came out guys like Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell and Andy Wood where like legends to me for having amazing hair RIP KC CC AW
So I set up an appointment with an endo at my local kaiser and the copay is like 65 bucks. Over at the LA LGBT Center I pay $20 tops plus $35 for 3 months of HRT. I'm kinda dreading how much it's gonna cost at their pharmacy. Is the price difference worth not having to drive 20 miles downtown in rush hour traffic?
I think I wanted to fit another stereotype than "musician" so I felt like short hair was the only option lol. It always seemed to me that it was only musicians, which I am decidedly not, that had longer hair. But it's nice to know that that's not the only type of person I guess! I think I just focused too heavily on shorter hair as a tenant of masculinity outside of that definition. Like I said tho, it's silly. Brains go through ups and downs like that I guess.
Honestly, 10 dollar difference isn't that huge, but it's a person to person scenario. You may have the finances for it, or you may not. Take into consideration gas expenses from driving! Also fun fact: Remember when my father found out and said all that stuff? Yeah. My father wasn't on my side at all. He told my mother anyway after I shut him down in his usual tirade and decided to get back at me by informing my transphobic mother that I was trans and transitioning. That was a fun conversation (See: It wasn't). Now I don't even feel like a person in this house. I want out so goddamn bad, things have only spiraled south since I lost my job. Argh.
Oh, I don't think the $65 copay includes medication... I've gone in for urgent care a few times and I had to pay for my medication even after the copay. I've heard from people on Reddit in my area being charged $100~ on top of that for two months of HRT! On the upside, though, I think Kaiser covers vocal coaching, hair removal, FFS, GRS, and trach shaves.
I would 100% get in Kaisers system as you'll save a lot of money in the long run. They literally cover everything so yeah, go with that for sure.
