He admitted to wanting to drink before Detroit, and I think he did, but that's as far as I'm able to tell. These accusations came up last year too I think, and I don't think they're all that credible.
Punisher LP probably helped, with them jokingly claiming they're always high when recording, so high. I'm sure that started the ball rolling for substance abuse jokes in general, which led to serious accusations.
The accusations don't really help when they've gone on record that they have/are drinking during LPs (and definitely the lets watches). I recall Pat saying he doesn't drink at all anymore (don't quote me on that, I think it was on one of the streams), so if you watch the Resi5 LP with that in mind you can get an idea for why people think Matt's acting drunk.
I'm not saying it's that bad. Sure it could be an underlying problem, but if it doesn't affect his personal life in a negative way (which there's no evidence that I know of) then he is free to drink in my books. If it helps him open up to talk in a job that requires speaking one's mind then by all means, I know I need a few drinks to open up too.

It's probably because you can have trouble focusing talking and playing at the same time. Pat and Woolie manages just fine and is a pleasure to watch.
Matt on the otherhand is like watching a drunk person ramble on about non-relevant things to what's currently happening - and he says stupid shit.
i don't really get what you guys have against Matt, he's been openly drunk in numerous videos and he's always acted noticeably different when he is. he has his ineptitudes and shining moments just like the other four THREE, THERE WERE ONLY EVER THREE

I was just kind of hoping when they were doing full "Hank go up" route before things got mixed. But yeah I'm not when they did get some good moments, though Hank and Connor in the first playthrough was my sticking point imo. I'm a sucker for those moments aside from Gun Markus route.
