I don't really know how to feel about the DmC LP. It honestly kind of feels a biiiit like they're just kind of nitpicking. They always seems to go "Yeah but..." every time the game actually does something kind of cool or interesting. Like when they got to that one area with the big chain that looks really good, only for Pat to mention the colors being the "movie poster colors" (which Woolie actually defends). Like don't get me wrong, while I do actually like the game (Not my favorite in the series mind you), the game does have a lot of big oofs, but it the LP and their commentary in general is kind of just rubbing the wrong way for some reason.

Pat's Mt. Garbage makes a return

As a Matt-apologist, I will say he's an obvious pick for Kingdom Hearts, since he's obviously the one with most child-like wonder left in him. I can see a solid argument for wanting Pat there too, with his insane min-maxing style in RPGs, which could be fun in a kids game.

Unfortunately Matt also means we get moments like the start of episode 2, where he can't stop button mashing long enough to dodge the enemy's set counter that happens automatically every time you hit them 4 times in a row, while complaining that he's "locked in" to attacking and that the counter is "random".

Woolie playing, Matt commenting would be optimal in my world. Or a Super with all three, Pat at controls.

And if I'm completely honest, it feels like they're downplaying just how much anger was levied at Ninja Theory for the game- they got a bunch of death threats for Christ's sake. So yeah I'm not gonna blame them when they take a jab like the white hair and the other stuff.

death threats aren't exactly a rarity these days, but the whole back-and-forth of DmC's development, the press and the fans was a huge mess in general some people went too far with voicing their opinions, which resulted in the gaming press calling DMC fans manchildren, which resulted in DMC fans getting mad, which resulted in more hate towards the devs and journalists, etc etc

The journalists sucked NT's dicks so hard that it actually got disgusting, it was an attempt to gaslight people into thinking that DMC3 and 4 were bad games that sold poorly to push for DMC being the best option.

I want to know how many of these "gaslighting journalists" you mention existed- I'm sure there were plenty defending them from hate, sure, but to go as far as to "trick people into thinking DMC3/4 we're bad games" feels like an overreaction to a site or two. Even still, it could be that they legitimately thought DmC's was better, possibly because the style system was much more forgiving like Pat and Woolie mentioned.

Legit dude nearly sank Capcom with his awful decisions, and it's why they tried so hard to be western, only to hemorrhage money with every reboot and western made title.

Looks exactly like I thought- someone who believes the game is better because the style system was more lenient in comparison. To think that this is considered "sucking NT's dick" is a little silly imo I also can't buy into the "paid reviews" theory- it's much more likely that, as Woolie and Pat said, the game was engineered in a way to appeal to a certain demographic, which a lot of journalists are a part of. Didn't help sell the game any, obviously.

It plays perfectly fine, though it's very obvious that someone went in and fucked with the dialogue and added edgy-ness to it. Because you'll have alright scenes and then just utter shite that happens hand in hand.
