Super Best Friends Thread V6: Funko Pop appreciation thread

Some folks on Twitter seem determined to construct a bandwagon where the reason for the split was Paige associating with Alt-right people and uhh... corrupting Pat, or something?
i really do think he just wanted to acknowledge the breakup and he just phrased it really badly, as he sometimes does. as far as we know he's still good friends with 2/3 of the show, and i doubt he had any intentions of teasing people. if you check the replies to that tweet he's totally accepting the flak he's gotten for it.
There's always gonna be an instant "S/O yoko'd the thing" reaction which is pretty much always stupid and is never helped by people, again, wanting to stir the pot or make wild conspiracies. I really don't think this was a malicious ending, i genuinely think the stress of trying to balance lives and increasingly successful side channels just resulted in an argument where they decided to part ways, which is pretty much the best outcome we could hope for. Things should be left well enough alone going forward imo.
Bear in mind he's probably being bombarded by people asking what he thinks about it and he's probably just trying to say that there may have been some tensions between people which is part of the reason he left.
You're right but were i in this position i'd just keep my mouth shut entirely. I'm prolly just reading too much into this though, as much as i'm trying to stay balanced and unbiased man this shit just really fuckin' sucks.
The kind of raw anxieties that Liam had and still has, and the way he copes with them with stupid arguments and overly snide, inappropriate comments hits very close to home. I may just be projecting, but this is the kind of panic reaction I tend to get into when something I was a bit anxious about happens to go wrong in exactly the way I was setting myself up to expect.
Problem being that by now Liam seems to be very well aware of this anxiety and the kind of stupid shit he says while under it yet he still pushes himself back onto the topic, so at this point I'm bound to be less sympathetic and more disappointed in the fact that he's essentially setting himself up to be in the exact situation that paints him as the biggest douchebag.
Liam loves to let everyone not so subtly know how much he doesn't like Pat, it's why I kind of got sick of him. He needs to let it go and stop bringing it up, it's an awful look.
Been watching since the machinima days, not really caught up on the lore and never really watched the podcasts, but I've seen a fair number of their LPs and shitstorm was a yearly tradition for me (this last one was the only one I haven't fully seen through, due to the lackluster content and disinterest in a number of the games + a mcsmuscles rerun). This breakup is really upsetting, unlike most of you guys I didn't really feel the same way about the lack of enthusiasm from the content, except perhaps the shitstorm, as I am not very up to date nor do I watch the streams, so to me I feel a bit more blindsided by the news. Nevertheless I considered the trio (and maybe in some ways, the duo because I really started up with Matt and Pat) to be like dear friends and I am very saddened that this is how the story ends. Just hearing Woolie saying that Matt and Pat are no longer friends was really upsetting. This whole post is pretty disorganized, I apologize for that, it's just hard trying to get my feelings down.
I'm not so sure. While there's less opaqueness regarding the situation here, I'm still seeing a lot of people going 'Pat must have done this' 'Matt must have done that' and taking sides where they really don't have to. It's likely not going to be the conspiracygrumps level, but I wouldn't be surprised if some fringe pockets of animosity start to fester
I think the important thing for everyone to remember going forward, is that a fanbase going to bat for the person they're a fan because of 'drama' has pretty much never worked out well for anyone involved
Ultimately it just makes the scenario feel even more personal for the people involved and makes them way more likely to say something they regret out of frustration, which can end up doing way more damage than is necessary
Game Grumps are actually a pretty great example of that, I'd argue that the insanity of that fringe likely only served to strain the relationships even further than they already were
He could have literally said fucking nothing.
Damn, I just got home from a trip and decided to quickly check Youtube for a new SBFP video or something to watch before going to bed. This is hitting me hard. They were literally the only guys whose videos I would watch every single day. I loved all of them.
I never realized that there was a lack of enthusiasm or any tensions, their videos always made me feel like I was just watching a bunch of good friends having fun and letting me be a part of it by creating their content.
This is the worst fucking timeline. Fuck.
One thing I do find slightly fishy or odd is the timing of the announcement/leak of the Castle Superbeast brand on Twitch before the announcement of the breakup of SBFP. Looks like they had it ready to go with artwork and twitch channel and all. Granted, if the timeline goes the break happening at the recording for FNF, that's a good day or two to get that up and ready, still seems kinda odd.
I dunno, I'm usually not one to look into shit like this, I'm just tryin'a contextualize the last few bits of internet-culture that I care apart fading away.

God bless you, Swery.
So, do you guys think they'll delete the SBFP channel with all of their videos or something? There are still some LPs I was going to watch and I'm suddenly afraid I won't be able to finish them anymore because they'll be gone eventually.
They said in the final video that they'll be leaving everything up for people to view.
Okay thanks... sorry, must've missed that cause of all kinds of emotions flooding my brain
They more or less had to break up with half a million people to a degree, I feel bad for the three of them. I was bummed when Liam left since i did love him being the hardest anti pat ever.
The more stuff I read about Liam and Matt on Twitter, the more gross it makes me feel. I'm looking forward to Chewie and fuckface.
I should've known it wasn't going to be as simple as "we just don't get along like that anymore." I'll always have the heavy rain lp to go back to every couple years and I hope that Woolie/Paige/Pat do more collabs with all three of them, the last podcast was a fuckin riot.
I wouldn't take anything you're reading from random people on twitter to heart.

I dunno there isn't a lot here to misinterpret
uh i think you mean chemicals
And hows that make Liam the bad person in this situation? We don't know what happened between them.
I know everyone has their conspiracies (I'm guilt of this too), but let's not just try and demonize one of them for being the ONE thing that killed SBFP, because I guarantee it's a lot more complex than any of us could know by random theories pieced together by twitter posts.
Wow, no offence to Matt but fuck her.
The image isn't even about liam in a bad light. It's Matts wife being antagonistic.
Actually made me laugh, cheers
I don't care who you are, jesus fuck you're a grown ass woman, don't post this high school level passive aggressive shit
Yeah I should have been more clear; this was just one of the things I saw which makes it a bit murky/made me feel bleh about Matt and his wife. I saw people saying that Liam habitually downvotes Pat and Paige posts on Reddit, but who knows.
I guess my point was that it makes me feel uneasy reading stuff on Twitter, paired with seeing Pat straight up offering an olive branch and getting shot down. My excitement towards Pat and Woolie's stuff is just because I can't imagine Woolie would be with Pat if Pat did something really heinous.
Now that's some stupid shit. Not because I think Liam is actually doing it, but because people are going off the deep end by suggesting that he downvotes their comments when you can't actually see who downvotes whom.
It sucks that the official age of two best friends is over but if matt was actively bringing the crew down, then I'm not against him leaving. Unforutanately it's almost all "he said she said" sprinkled with twitter screenshots. It's gonna be game grumps with jontron leaving all over again.
I'm super ready for Pat/Woolie shenanigans though.
