Seeing as no one else has remade the thread yet
Chernobyl Reactor No4 under construction in 1981.
I'm still sad that I never got to see Chernobyl before they put the New Safe Confinement over it.
An Embraer E-170 of EgyptAir/Air Sinai at Tel Aviv Airport. EgyptAir operates four flights a week between Cairo and Tel Aviv under the name "Air Sinai", a subsidiary company that exists solely so they can fly the route. The route is flown with two aircraft in EgyptAir Express colors like the one above, but with no marks identifying the airline - likely because of the complicated relationship between the two countries. The route does not appear on EgyptAir's schedules, maps, or website, and it can be difficult to acquire a ticket for the flight since official avenues for doing so are limited. Historically other aircraft have been used, including an all-white Boeing 737-500 and, on rare occasions, actual EgyptAir-branded aircraft.
I've visited it a week before the put the new confinement on it. The sarcophagus was really an interesting piece of architecture.
Eh, tours inside the Sarcophagus are not impossible.
Are you sure? IIRC they're going to start dismantling the entire plant under the new confinement.
That's not very likely. Ukraine barely had the money to build the replacement containment, they certainly can't afford to dismantle the reactor.
Right now, that's true. But I think the intentions with the new confinement, was to provide a better solution than the sarcophagus over the next 100 year, and during that time, the reactor will be dismantled.
Okay, and how does that stop you visiting in the next decade?
I'm assuming they aren't going to let just anyone onto the site due to OSHA rules.
I have no clue cordite was actually supplied to the factory as string.

Lance Armstrong at the 1995 Tour de France, racing for the Motorola team. Winning Stage 18 and placing 36th overall, this race is Armstrong's best placement in the Tour de France after his 7 consecutive overall wins from 1999-2005 were annulled following an investigation into his use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Reminds me of Todd McLellan's series, 'Things come apart'.
I found this strangely striking and definitely only posted it in this thread and nowhere else

In many places it has or still is illegal to colour margarine the same colour as butter, so a number of techniques were used to get around these laws.
"Pinch color berry" has got to be the greatest food prep instruction step I've ever seen.
