It's a very impressive sculpture, but I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at the fucking eyes popping out and looking like they're glaring at that booty.

This is the USS L-1 (temporarily redesignated as *AL-1* while in European waters) while she was stationed in Bantry Bay, Ireland, sometime in 1918.
The United States sent a division of Submarines to be stationed in Ireland called "Submarine Division 5". They patrolled the Irish Sea, Bristol Channel, English Channel, and Western Approaches, from March, 1918 until the Armistice. They encountered German U-Boats twenty times, but did not manage to sink any of them.

I feel that people often forget that Germany wasn't the only nation to have submarines during WWI.
It's been a long time since cool machines and mechanisms were posted, whether graphs or real stuff and I kind of miss it. I don't have any saved but do you guys have any cool stuff like that lying around?
because it was literally created by some youtuber and no one of any accreditation. the map took him "a couple weeks."
from his "about" section:
Hey there, my name is Mason and I'm here to inform people on various (potentially) controversial subjects that most mainstream outlets don't cover (or cover incorrectly), such as race, ethnicity, religion, and culture. Most of my content on this channel will center around geography and demography.
definitely no red flags there
Masaman is a good youtuber though? It's just his comment section thats utter garbage
don't want to derail this shit
that map isn't made to any credible standard whatsoever. not even subtle, it's literally rife with inconsistencies, and in the short time i've looked at it one or two complete fabrications, without even getting into the fundamental issues of what this map is even trying to show. genetic groups? linguistic groups? contemporary cultural groups? historical cultural groups? everything at the same time? i'm not even sure it's possible to get that sort of granularity some of these places. it's objectively dishonest, false knowledge and worth calling out.
Not safe for life

Here's some pictures of the Mecha that General Electric built in the 50's to work on the planned nuclear powered bomber.

I really wonder why combustion turbines aren't more prevalent in train engines. They're much more efficient than diesel engines, and even now there is jet engines in powerplants turning generators. Surely they could have just bolted one to a chassis and called it a day?
