are you planning on using the new icons on the whole site or just the homepage?
tbh when we did have changelogs, they became less and less informative as time goes on that's just the nature of source controlled projects please refer to this xkcd infographic as an example https://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/git_commit.png
so we should just tell people to fuck themselves and find out themselves instead
it's easier than deciphering the changelogs that were showing up in the changes page
the changes we're pretty clear what the fuck are you on
i'd pull up some examples if the page still existed, because they definitely weren't as clear as they used to be
Thank you, garry.
The old icons made everything pop out and destinct. Now the forum feels desaturated , the most colourful thing are the old thread icons, and the logo up the top My eyes are now attracted to the category title since their tint of blue overpowers the icon. Which in simpler terms, I'm reading text instead identifying logos/images to find what I'm looking for
I like this new UI update Especially the bar that sticks to the top. I recall people asking for something like this a long time ago on old-facepunch as well.
The new look is looking great. I'm having a much better time using this forum in general after the last two updates
RIP Kirby, you will be missed https://i.imgur.com/l60Bvud.png
There were plenty of them that were just stuff like "misc. changes" or such which covered some reasonably major changes.
Can the header stretch the full length of the page if we're going to have it follow us? The whitespace just looks weird. https://i.imgur.com/YiBRh6T.png Also can we please rate people in locked threads again.
Also, forgot to say this, but really loving the last 2 updates.
i like these much better than those gross thick black outlines
Can we get a "dismiss" button for each notification on mobile? I can right click on the desktop on mobile the list just fills up with stuff I don't always care about, and I can't just mark all of them as read cause there are also a bunch I'd like to get back to later
The bread crumb for the thread title on mobile pushes the event log drop-down off the right, so I keep scrolling to the right a bit
The update seems really good, although I've had an issue with the notifications menu not appearibg on mobile (iOS Safari) since the past two updates.
Were those forum settings on the left there before? Hiding subforum threads when looking at parent forums makes them much more bearable, Game Dev is no longer flooded by the modelling threads :v https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/517/69508b31-0a47-4177-ad45-5251d90c388e/subofrum-options.PNG
They were added yesterday.
I actually like the visual change, although I wish the front page icons would be more saturated. Considering all thread icons are colorful they are a bit out of place. And yes, I would also like an actual changelog, they were mostly fine even if they were a bit sparse but we had at least something.
Sorry if this was discussed in the other update thread but being able to sort by thread date is cool and I'd probably use it more if it was a simple click at the top of the relevant column instead of having to choose from the drop down menu and hit save, assuming it could be done in a way that would save your preference.
The new icons are pretty good, but I have to second that they need just a little more darkness on the outlines. Like, just a tiny bit so they pop out from the background a little.
We should have a competition for new icons/ratings like we had for ratings back on oldpunch
I’m fine with the shape of the new icons, but the desaturated color keeps making me think the sub forums are disabled/greyed out.
What's this blue css? Anyone else getting choppy looking page scrolling now? I'm on firefox and the only custom css I have atm is darker text
I like the top bar, it's small enough to not notice when you're browsing, but it's all there. Now if the notifications got updated in real time without a page refresh...
Pretty good updates. Listing coin ratings as events is unnecessary though.
also is there any movement on removing/changing auth options yet?
You are here forever.
