It's something Garry could actually add with a bit of work. It'd just need a middleman layer between what people type into the post editor and what actually gets posted is all. This is your post, for example:

The "message" index has the instructions for creating a quote within Quill. It wouldn't be all that difficult to (easier on Garry's side than someone trying to make a userscript, albeit a bit time consuming regardless) add in a middle layer which converts

And while there may be some valid reasons to disallow it, it's also important to take into account the legitimate issues with the new system. Multiquoting is an enormous pain in the ass since the reply box is permanently attached to the bottom of the page and there's no dedicated reply page. You also can't edit a quote after quoting it which is a pain itself since you then have to delete the whole quote, hunt it down, then quote it again. (And even bigger pain if you already have multiple quotes going on to begin with and want to keep things in chronological order so they make more sense.) And people have issues with a lot of the tags. Image links aren't viable at all and getting links to actually cooperate can be a huge lesson in futility at times.
That's not to mention the quirks such as spoilers getting split if there's any sort of formatting change or anything done within the spoiler or simply minor differences such as ctrl+i/b/u working similarly to the old forums except for the need to hit them again to end the formatting. There's also issues with not being able to type before a quote if it's the first thing in the editor (an issue I've run into on a number of occasions), some tags not cooperating at all with certain setups like code tags which people can't seem to get rid of, and the mobile issues regarding quotes you can't delete.
If Garry wants a WYSIWYG editor and for it to only be WYSIWYG then it needs some serious work done to work out the serious flaws it has. They tend to be pretty unpopular in general anyways because while they can be intuitive for simple things, if you want to do anything considered out of the ordinary (in Newpunch's case something as simple as adding a link to an image) then it can be incredibly uncooperative or even impossible because the editor insists it knows better than you and won't allow that. An objective downgrade from a system that would do exactly what you told it to do.

Not to mention unintuitiveness, without some sort of tutorial nobody is ever going to figure out "highlight part of a post to quote only that" without being explicitly told

the problem with this lies that quill quotes use a blockquote element on each and every line.
This makes styling a pain. We've talked about it before in another thread, and the solution isn't exactly as easy at it should be

You can, you just can't copy-paste them in.
You can use regular apostrophes( ' ), but you can't use the weird unicode ones that most news articles use in their titles. Just remove them and type them manually if you still want them.

For some reason I can't swipe up while on mobile? I can swipe down just fine but when I try to swipe up it doesn't move and instead acts as if I'm on top of the page and refreshes the page. I have a couple of pixels of free space where it moves up before locking and I basically have to catapult my way back up

Would recommend let's ecrypt CA - they got tons of automation stuff that can avoid the manual renewal garbage. Plus it's free.
I'm pretty sure it's already automated by the Azure host. It was taken care of within a matter of minutes and the new cert lasts for a whole year, so it's not really an issue anyhow.
