is it possible for the gaming discussion child forums to be sorted out? i don't think ones for "mario" or "far cry" are necessary so much as just "nintendo" or "ubisoft" ones.

like
1) 8 years is not a small amount of time to devote to something especially for free
2) the only people whose opinions should matter when it comes to rules and enforcement are the moderators

Standard procedure for every time garry intervenes with the forum and someone thinking it is funny to challenge the changes with a stunt.
The rules aren't explicit, everything is subjective, intent is a factor. We're not the police, we don't have to prove anything. Everyone knows why he was posting how he was posting, so we just get rid of him.

What I don't get is why did Trekintosh decide to go on a shitposting spree after getting 840 coins when he originally posted that thread, even if there are no explicit rules it's obvious he'd get banned sooner or later

People don't do this to farm for ratings, coin inflation is such a joke that most regular posters already have 200+ coins just laying about. People are worried that throwing out all rules is gonna have a negative impact on the forum, in how people argue and interact. Why make a constructive argument with sources of a wildly unpopular opinion when you can just post an epic reaction zinger. The only times I saw people getting banned for "dissenting opinions" was when their argument basically comes down to name calling, wildly racist/transphobic rubbish or "gas the kikes, doesn't necessarily mean kill the jews."

To be fair that was a fair few months ago and the rules were designed for the old forums. We always knew the rules would become more relaxed and would change, which is why when we switched over to these forums I told them to "go back to basics" which was just deal with spamming, flaming, etc.

BDA was demodded for changing somebody's name and flaming, plus he didn't want to be a moderator anymore.
Asaratha was demodded by garry, presumably because of the opinions he voiced without going through the proper channels
Sgt Doom stepped down because with the new rule changes he doesn't feel there's much for him to do, plus he doesn't have enough time to justify being a moderator anymore.
It's to dissuade megathreads and encourage creation of new threads on different topics (e.g splitting discussion into separate threads rather than one massive one)
Is there a list of followed threads? Subscribed forums?
If there is, its not easy to find and that needs to change.
If there isn't, there it should be there.
You tried to ban megathreads, everyone told you it was a terrible idea and so you made it impossible to functionally have them. Do you see why people don't believe that you're actually listening to feedback?
Dumb question probably, but is there currently any way to contact a user on the forum?
I ask because someone I would like to get into contact with is relatively active here, but I have no other way of communicating with them at this point in time.
