• Rating icons look a little strange scaled down

funny is a hero we don't deserve
Why do these change bi-weekly.
I like these new ones. I'm going to miss the old ones though.
Personally I'm liking them, there's some parts that need to be fixed like lines getting too close together but other than that I see them as an improvement.
I really like them! They're a bit hard to read though, right now I just read the labels as I mouse over them. I'll probably get used to it.
I like the style of the icons, but they just really didn't scale down very well.
They are super nice on high density displays btw
Somehow I prefer the old emotes we had back then with the thick outlines.
Gotta figure out what half the ratings are now. I really liked the balloon for "big woop", the bottle or whatever doesn't seem to fit.
It fits, you're sarcastically popping champagne
I'll just sarcastically pop champagne and get this party started then.
Honestly high fidelity svg icons shrunk down to 16x16 look pretty shit, they're very visually busy and hard to easily discern at a glance Purpose built 16x16 svg icons that are then increased in size when they appear above ratings are the way to go imo
Maybe design a set of icons that don't use outlines?
Wouldn't it be super easy to edit the svg to have thicker outlines?
I prefer the new icons as thread icons, but not as ratings.
While we are on the topic, as a narcissist, I would like to be able to view who rated my posts again.
I feel like no outlines would make it look better.
Click the number.
Unlike the thread icons which are perfect, the new rating icons have some problems IMO. https://i.onozuka.info/i/srceucudkf.png Here's what I think: They all seem a bit too small for the level of detail on them. Maybe try making them a bit bigger? Agree and disagree are of different line thickness, don't think that's good (funny's probably gonna get changed soon so idk) Why is late just a clock? Clocks are for telling time, alarm clocks however are for making sure you aren't late, etc.. Artistic is just a paint bucket. That's nowhere near "artistic" for me. Why not like, a splash of multicolored paint? That'd work way better Dumb is a little too detailed. Just a plain box looks more "blunt" just like the person you're rating it with. Snowflake icon is.. weird? Iconic slowflakes are hexagonal Informative definitely needs some touching up, it stands out.
i like the art style, but these just don't work as icons because even with a high dpi display the scaling crushes the details... here's a comparison https://u.x64.re/f/GiftedShimmeringErinyes
What is with these horrible ugly notches cut out of the borders of every icon randomly? Makes all the ratings look awful.
Holy shit! That snowflake has a face!
Why can't we just steal some good icons and use them with no license like a normal forum
So I was bored and thought I could take a crack at redesigning rating icons to work better at smaller resolutions https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/111665/1a2626c3-9d87-4660-a66c-8e9d0694534c/fp_ratings.png Haven't quite done all of them, not really sure about artistic, baby or snowflake. Designed these for 18x18 px since that's the lowest resolution they are displayed on. I tried to preserve the style somewhat, but had to take a few liberties to make them work at the minimum resolution
The paint bucket is like the opposite of Artistic. It spells "rushed", "industrial grade", "flat", "monotone" and all that. The palette was miles better.
Informative looks like a scalpel or a butter knife
