Memes have followed a really weird progression in the last 11 1/2 years. They started off as just funny text over images but now they either form feedback loops with other memes or simply exist to be ironically terrible. I wonder to what strange places the internet's humor might go next.
There is one meme in one of the LMAO threads, somewhere in the 50s, and it was a building that looked like a creeperface, with some stupid obvious text explaining the joke. Then it became a joke to reply to the post with slowbro and point out the obvious joke "OH ITS A CREEPER" and the further away the post the funnier. Now I've been thinking about replying to the post for years now, but I totally lost it and well, I just want to see it done at this point to see if people remember that.
I think I vaguely recall seeing that meme referenced in previous LMAO threads I lurked.

I used to browse LMAO pics back in like 2010 in drafting/design classes in high school. Came back next year and facepunch was blocked.
Nowadays there isn't much if any NSFW but back then some slipped through, maybe not nudity but stuff I probably shouldn't have been looking at in school.
You're lucky, I remember the day I was in the middle of college, and a collage of ass pictures from Postal and the like just gracefully scrolled past with my lecturer looking on in horror.

Facepunch has really grown as a community (together), and it's real fun to notice the subtle changes in humor
or "ways of presenting" jokes or "memes", that we all grow along with.
I think I'm not the only one to say Facepunch has really had a huge impact on my sense of humor & 'cleverness'/'witty-ness'.
Facepunch has always felt like a very personal community (everyone knows one another, knows what's going on,
heck we even help each other out/feel for another when diseases or complications occur, with recent events in mind) .
Without LMAO Pics, Facepunch really wouldn't be the same, having fun/laughing together is the best way to fraternize.
What happened to the recent thread? Why was it closed at like 35 pages? Is it because it had 999 replies?????? That's nothing.
I remember we had a whole page in one of the threads that was just "Mods are asleep, post birds with arms"
Garry added a post limit to threads, so the most recent thread probably exceeded it by however much and got an automatic closure.
Maybe the intent is eventually creating a LMAO subforum where each picture is in it's own separate thread for discussion?

Once in my programming class I was reading about the Rust key debacle and clicked a link to a fake key distribution website that someone here had set up. I fully knew it was fake and just wanted to see what kind of joke it was, when BAM postal's ass right there with no good way to explain it to my friends.

The former would be undesirable because it could potentially cause an assless zombie uprising because they got pissed off that someone kept stealing asses from corpses.
I'm pretty sure I posted that walrus image, should I be ashamed that I'm proud of it? I remember cherishing each and every funny rating back then.
