The vast majority of games I play are old. I regularly/semi-regularly play/often revisit: SWAT 4 (W/Elite Force mod) Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield (Usually w/Ordnance Project mod) System Shock 2 (Mostly unmodded but most recently with SecMod 3, some Fan Missions too) Deus Ex (GMDX) Urban Terror Jagged Alliance 2 (1.13) MechWarrior 4/Expansions (MekTek exp's) Homeworld series C&C series up to 3: TW/KW Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War (Particularly Dark Crusade, with Titanium Wars mod) Crimson Skies Ground Control Hostile Waters: Antaeus Rising Various HL1/2 mods Echelon/Echelon: Wind Warriors Act of War Soldier of Fortune 1 & 2: Double Helix Flatout 2 Doom 1&2 (Project Brutality) GTA San Andreas (and MTA) Left 4 Dead 2 I'd still be playing BF2142 on and off as well if it weren't for EA's fuckin lawyers. Recently began playing through/completed: No One Lives Forever (Nearly on to 2) The Suffering Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death Warhammer 40k: Chaos Gate Crime Cities 1NSANE Speed Busters Urban Assault Hogs of War
I'm currently replaying Halo 3 if that counts as old?
I think this may be the right thread to ask this. Given I'm playing the whole Metal Gear Solid series at the moment (I'm about to begin Peace Walker), should I even bothered with Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (which are both playable on the HD Legacy Collection version of MGS 3: Snake Eater)? I skipped both after reading their whole synopsis on the MGS Wiki because they are too vintage for my taste and even the friend who is making me play them advised me not to bother, but they were both directed by Hideo Kojima, so jumping them won't sit all that well with me. Perhaps.
Older CnC games, at least Red Alert 2 and Generals are pretty much always installed. RA2 with Mental Omega mod is pretty rad. I still play classic Half-Life games from time to time, just recently played through Opposing Force. Original Doom, Wolf 3D and Duke 3D are installed on multiple machines I own and I play them regularly. Doom 3, F.E.A.R series and Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth are in my October pre-Halloween lineup. Oh, and I recently found an original copy of Two Worlds from my local game store. I know it's a shitty game, but I can't resist games in cardboard boxes and it was really cheap. Also I kinda like playing old bad games for laughs. I'll at least give it a go sometime in the near future.
Need For Speed 4 is still fun as fuck to me
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 Need for Speed: Underground Command & Conquer: Generals Star Wars Jedi Knight: Mysteries of the Sith Star Wars: Dark Forces 2 Stronghold Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Played a bit of the original Midnight Club recently. I think its intro video is pretty cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA6CxLzpE5w
I unironically believe the GEP gun is the most versatile weapon in the game for my needs of crowd control, lockpicking, robots, and everything inbetween
Wacky Races on game boy color, i never remember the game having impressive graphics. https://youtu.be/1kXiU_odMMM?t=106
The first games I remember playing were a bit older on the PS1. I say playing but it more like I fiddled with the controls and not much else. I cried at my parents to do it for me if I actually wanted to get anything done. I didn't play Midnight Club for a while after its release probably, I know I at least played NFS: Underground before it. I especially liked that you could find super cool secret cars in free roam to use in the main game.
Might be a little late, but I'd recommend them, personally. There are some bits that are really cryptic and I'd recommend keeping a guide by your side, but especially MG2 is a really good and enjoyable game. There are also a LOT of references and recurring characters from those games in the later titles, so yeah. I loved playing them. There's also a lot of weird dialogue and translations to laugh at, so that's always a plus
This summer I bough a second hand PS3 with the primary purpose of playing the best version of MGS3. Got two steering wheel & pedals sets along with to top off the ludicrously low selling price of 50€. My next plan is to hunt down SOCOM 1-3 and Combined Assault for my PS2. Been also planning on some recent day playing Rayman Revolution and the Jak & Daxter trilogy again.
I just bought this. https://i.imgur.com/CuSTQSy.png Still in its shrinkwrap. Very excited. One of my favorite strategy games of my childhood. Dunno if I want to record the unboxing experience.

Just finished MGS1 and man, some of those codec conversations are really good. Disc 2 felt a little quick, though.
I thank you for the advice, but at this point I've already read a detailed synopsis of each and moved in the main Metal Gear Solid series. It also doesn't help that I don't like to play games that old and, these days, I have far less free time than before, so I'm forced to be kinda selective. It's also worth mentioning that, as I'm playing all the games in the seried and I'm currently around Peacewalker, every game beside MGS 3: Snake Eater feels downright superflous to me, so I'm in no hurry to add more to the pile. ... I should had posted that in Unpopular Opinions, probably
I bought a PS2 specifically for this, to play old games that won't run on modern computers/are harder to find on PC. But most recent I've been playing Manhunt 2 and Bully, I am still planning on playing the Silent Hill games and The Thing.
Just played Future Cop: LAPD for the first time in forever on PS1.............memories <3
I finally decided to give Halo a real chance. I played it about half a decade ago and only got to the flood levels, and the only other Halo I played was Halo 3 MP. I was never a big Halo fan mostly because my brother would play it and get violent when he got shit on, but I always admired it's lore. Playing it now and getting past the flood level, I love it, and I still think it holds up pretty well.
I still play the old PC version of the King Kong game. https://files.catbox.moe/1nlsf2.webm
