no offense. But you have your head so far up your own arse in your unquestionable loyalty to this dead rapper. Its pathetic...
Seems like you're the one who's got a hard time accepting people's opinions here mate. You're the one attacking people for not liking the same rapper as you.
'unquestionable loyalty' yeah empathizing with someone you can't seem to find any decency for is unquestionably loyal lol If some of you guys were bringing up legitimate criticisms maybe this would be a conversation but most of you are deliberately going out of your way to misinterpret at least what I've been saying. Right now you may think you're throwing epic Ls my way cause people on here are on your side but your arguing against basic empathy for a dead kid at the end of the day and youre just wasting your breath Some of y'all are absolutely off your shit on this meme hate at this point. I'd be more than happy to have a legitimate discussion about this but even trying leads to mad personal attacks and heavily baseless claims that prove you don't even have a personal stake in the argument, you're all just talking shit cause 'ohh I heard he was a bad person!!'
But... he was a bad person. Even if the alleged pregnant girlfriend beating didn't happen, he was still on record for having committed armed robbery after breaking into someone's house with a gun and beat the shit out of him. And also has video evidence of him beating the shit out of other women
NIN is absolutely my lifeblood, I've seen trent more than any other musician since I was a baby and I spent years following asleep to The Fragile, but saying NIN of that era isn't pretentious is kinda stretching it. Trent had a really bad habit for a long time of adding a thick layer of corniness to his lyrics and that didn't really start breaking till him an Atticus began really optimizing the music on a technical rather than conceptual level. I love them regardless obviously and I'm not saying hurt isn't a masterpiece of a track, but if I had to think of any modern musician who was working with the same type of fans who resonated with TDS, it was X. Don't forget TDS is a concept album about loneliness, addiction to love and suicide. While Trent really had an opium addiction, that only feeds into the album's themes, the album isn't actually about that
The only people who froth at the mouth are the ones who want to excuse and defend him and his behavior because, "He was a kid even though he actually isn't." and "He was trying to change even though there is no evidence for that other than him saying 'Yeah lol gonna change.'" He was a forgettable rapper who died and his fans want him to be the next Tupac and Biggie. But people don't really buy that shit and are keenly aware of how awful he was, so the post-mortem glorification of him isn't sticking.
A) he was a kid what do you mean B) plenty of revisions to his behavior, his friend group, his build up of a community to push a message of positivity breaks your argument that all he did was say he'd change The second half of your post is just nonsense that shows how out of touch you are with the rap scene, the post mortem has so far brought a lot of positivity in the community and even the biggest out there like Kanye and JayZ came out to say their piece. If you consider a SoundCloud rapper who came out the SoFlo ghettos, brushed shoulders with all the greatest and then earned their respect to be 'forgettable' then pardon me for assuming you don't have a lot of exposure to hip hop
How is being 20 a kid? Like, that's "Paying your own bills in your own place." age for most. Also you're not the first to say he was definitely changing for the better without any evidence to show it on here. The one before you is currently sitting on a month long ban over this subject. Also he's forgettable because he didn't do anything meaningful, did a lot that was objectively terrible, and right now he's a hot topic because he got shot and people like Kanye are gluttons for anything that puts them in the media spotlight for a moment (like Kanye praising our shithead president and basically every other moment of his life). They don't give a shit and they'll forget him the moment his no longer a story because they're looking for the next big story.
I saw the first time and the third time is just above. When was the second time?
Literally like within a couple of hours after he got unbanned for the first, in the thread in SH about this guy's death. I'll go find the post link.
Also... "getting better"? He literally got off of house arrest 3 months ago and was still under investigation for, again. Beating a fucking pregnant woman
You're a white kid from new hampshire what the fuck do you know about south florida gang life rofl.
rereading his comment gave me whiplash god damn
Hey now, Slipknot had some good sounding songs. I still enjoy them every now and then
wooooah don't be dissing lo-fi hip hop. the genre makes so much sense once you realize its purpose, which is "beats to relax/study to." It's like ambient music or the infinite amounts of "sounds of nature" cds. TBH saying he kickstarted the entire genre doesn't make sense to me. Emo/soundcloud rap had been going for a couple of years w/ people like lil peep, bones, lil uzi vert, and you could argue that ppl like kid cudi, drake laid out the genre before it even began.
