Enemy Territory is the only multiplayer Wolfenstein game and there is no Nazi iconography in it. The German classes all wear armbands with symbols designating their class.
specifically mentioned current for a reason
I though Enemy Territory was meant to be the multiplayer of RtCW. It's been a very long time since I've played it.
I'm only talking about MP games where you play Germans. COD WWII caused a shit storm when only iron crosses were present in the MP trailer, with no Nazi symbols present.
My point is No WWII shooter which lets you play Germans has Nazi symbols, because of how uncomfortable it makes players feel. Yet COD WWII got shit for it and got dubbed "snowflake material", something which would never happen 10 years ago, because not everything had to be apart of some political agenda.
Same shit here, women are present because DICE are feminist, they just want a broader audience.
Have any previous WW2 games had Norway?
Hidden & Dangerous 2 did I think.
It also had levels in Burma and North Africa, man that game was so good and actually used the variety of the war to it's full extent. No D-Day in sight.
It does, infact it's the first chapter outside of training. It even has a Norwegian resistance dude who you get to hang out with on a nice stroll through a swamp.
There's another chapter later on that is just one level where you are in a Norwegian fjord.
Also, Normandy is in the game as part of a two mission chapter, the missions are before and after the landings. The first mission is at an offshore castle thing where you gotta blow up some cannons, then the second is some french town actually in Normandy (I think) where you've been sent in to assist some beleagured American paratroopers.
The final levels are in Czechoslovakia and the last level has you fight Soviet soldiers despite being Allies. Pretty unique, the only other games that I can think of that does that is Sniper Elite 1 and 2.
umm? woah. yikes, simply yikes. an actual FUCKING sexist WEIRDO on my facepunch forums? that's not a good look, honey. just yikes.
when was the last time a battlefield game was about realism, bf2? seeing a female amputee soldier while I jump out of my plane, rocket another, and parachute back into my plane is going to be completely immersion breaking
man I don't care about the shitstorm here, I don't play these games
I just think it's fuckin' dumb and patronizing for some rando Swedes and Socalers to go patting themselves on the back so hard for putting women in a video game, as if we haven't been playing games with women protagonists for the last 30 years
"right side of history" my ass
I had never considered that. If the Alien franchise had been made today, people would be bitching about it being a SJW movie.
you'd be surprised the shit ridley scott had to endure for putting Weaver as the protagonist. Aliens was not going to feature a female lead at all, it only did because fox execs wanted a female lead because everyone was doing them.
