One of the developers made a mistake that when you die, instead of getting the amount of gold dropped on you that you should have dropped, you drop the maximum amount a single 32 bit integer can hold. Or in other words, 2147 mil gets dropped every time someone dies.
Servers are down currently as you can expect. To give you an idea on how much that is, you can buy 2 weeks of membership for 5 mil.
