For Videos and That Kind of Crap, does "That Kind of Crap" include podcasts?
small psa: * works as a post search wildcard
If you're using Firefox, it's the built in tracking protection.
NSFW is considered to be things like (women's) nipples, vaginas, erect penii and arse holes. should be all penises in general. I dont want to explain why a floppy cock scrolled past my screen when I'm on facepunch at the airport
Just say it's rust "Oh you don't know what rust is... that's good"
The return of the dickpics thread
Not sure if this is bug report but, we've all probably noticed. https://i.imgur.com/LpknW6P.png https://i.imgur.com/3nfXawd.png
I'd say podcasts are fine for that section!
Is it just me, or is the videos subforum way less active now? Seems like most threads just drop off the page within a day or two.
On Firefox it also just kinda randomly happens sometimes too. I've had a number of times that there's a big blank space in a post so I change to the code view and follow the link that provides and can read the tweet just fine.
A lot of the megathreads died and nobody saw fit to remake them. I feel like they were a big chunk of the activity there.
I'm not even talking about megathreads, just the random threads that I would usually see in the latest section of read threads don't really get any attention anymore. It used to be that FP could give a thread around a thousand views, but this thread I made only netted the video 60 or 70 views.
Outlier, I scrolled through a number of pages and most threads had a least a couple hundred thread views, median around 500 I guess
That's what happens when you arbitrarily kill off every single large discussion thread on the forum at once I guess
Garry + Infinity Gauntlet = FP
I'm not here to defend certain posters, what I'm complaining about is that a thread goes one of two ways: A) Boilrig posts in a thread and there's a meltdown B) No discussions at all and just 30 user-submitted, samey variations on "this is bad". Personally I don't really engage in Polidicks anymore simply threads get swamped with replies that all basically say the same thing. The threads are so similar that it's pointless to discuss stuff, the same discussion could be had in twenty other threads. Might be because every little detail Trump does is posted as a thread, so spending your time on one just seems like a waste of it. It is a circlejerk, though - it's just self-congratulatory posts about a thing everyone agrees on. Doesn't even have to be untrue, it's just pointless.
I don't want to post things in there anymore because the discussions go no where If it's political, it's a dead end thread, if it's informative, no one talks about it because they aren't interested in conversation. A lot of what kept the subforum active was people just posting shit they found interesting or weird or different. Now if you post something, it's assumed to be something it isn't and people get all uppity.
Can any thread containing the word "ban" "banned" or "EAC" just... not post? Just automatically redirect them to the sticky??
I am actually getting more used to the forum layout and general changes now. I would still love popular threads and read threads and an easy way to keep being subscribed to threads after they close, like LMAO pics threads because with the 1k post limit it just gets ridiculous. But honestly what is killing the experience for me and what really feel like the forums are much worse now than in oldpunch and the whole thing is going to fall apart is the little markers of shoddy work or shit presentation. Like quoting news articles in SH. The thread titles get cut off, making it look ridiculous. The news articles themselves are a nothing but a huge photo and maybe one line of text that does not make me want to click the article. The whole quotes from articles with "> " in front just looks terrible and makes it very difficult to read news easily. The fact that images in quotes do not show up makes going through image dependent threads a chore. Twitter and a lot of embeds twitch like crazy and makes me think my eyes are having a seizure. Getting embedded videos that are not youtube to work is a bit of a roulette spin. The silly line breaks makes text look like shit. Not being able to jump to any page in threads with more than 4-5 pages is just silly. The wysiwyg editor is crazy and makes it very difficult to format your post the way you want it. I would be much more forgiving to give the new ideas a try if it was all presented more professionally and stable. And I cannot even agree with 'this is a new experience, things will change over time' as new features get added or removed all the time but a lot of very important bugs just get ignored. And newpunch was in beta for ages. I can understand how the new features could not be tested fully without having all the users try it out at the same time but these things should have been figured out and fixed a long time ago. The whole website has gone from slow, steady, unexciting but works to shoddy, unprofessional looking pot of new ideas in one swoop for me.
"why cant i post a thread? do banned players have no right to contest bans now"?????? you're going to just get an influx of these next
What is the equivalent of the optimistic rating now? Lucky?
bring back the dick pics thread
Let's not?
I use Cute when people are obviously trolling but not very well, or when someone is being very naive
Megathreads are discouraged, you'll need to make a new thread for every dick.
@garry this is why we need the zing rating back. Pretty please?
Just quietly say "ha ha, zing!" to yourself every time you rate a zingy post funny and it's like nothing ever changed
Lucky is probably my least favorite/used of the new emotes. I miss Zing...
FP has changed, not me. We used to have good discussions here all the time. But, hey, lucky for you I've pretty much just lurking now.
Considering that I used to group you with Grenadiac as a good example of a conservative user on the site I entirely disagree. You used to be a decent poster who people could have decent conversations with up until this last election when you started free falling into near-Tudd territory with the way you were posting.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
