Getting clown-like "harmless" figures to spearhead your bullshit movement is a good way to get people onboard because a lot more folks will be willing to joke about your movement as a way to test the waters if they feel like they're laughing good fun with a guy who's all just pulling a bit of crass, innocent humor. It's not to say that every joke made in bad taste serves some kind of purpose or is designed to drag you into an agenda but when a guy follows up his nazi pug video with a literal fucking advertisement for UKIP it becomes pretty obvious that the humor aspect is only there to ease this shit in.
