After some disappointments with New Colossus being a weaker sequel, this looks at least is shaping up on keeping the things that made DOOM 2016 good while ramping up everything else. Pretty excited!

At first when I saw the extra life I was thinking, what the shit, but then when the Invasions thing showed up, I'm guessing that's when it applies? Or does it actually apply in singleplayer, so if you die, rather than reload, you just respawn nearby to continue rather than restart?

That chain shotgun is fucking hilarious I love this game already. The more open levels and greater player agility are welcome additions as well. I lost it at the part where doomguy walks down a hallway and everyone just backs up, like they seen what he can do they dont want none of that.

In the arcade mode I'm guessing? I don't remember them showing up during the normal campaign.

Well it looks like a lot of fun! I don't mind the movement additions and have always thought about dashing and stuff in Doom '16
Thank fuck the level design is more open-ended, I hated '16s Serious Sam-style arenas

I love that they doubled down on the whole "DoomSlayer is a Demon killing Jesus". It's the best when they try to make ridiculously powerful characters fit into a realistic world.

i want to thank dark souls for bringing MP invasions into the spotlight so other games could take influence from it. i love that kind of shit this looks fucking dope as all hell
Can I say how much I love that chunks of gore now fly off monsters as they lose health - not just when you do a glory kill. That was the biggest graphical feature I feel was missing from the first game: there was absolutely no sense of impact from your shots because there was no indication that the demons were taking damage, apart from the stagger and the glowing when they were ready to be glory killed.
