Just use the report button. The worst thing that can happen is literally nothing.
This really needs to be in the report box. It needs to say somewhere that "You won't be banned for incorrect reports." or something similar.
I think people like Bee York/mrs metokour are proving this “hands off” approach is just failing
I agree, but that's all on Garry. Hence why I hop in here once and a while and make that statement again.
Hopefully i don't sound numb or be a slowpoke but whatever happened to the change logs and the promise to bring back the userlist so you can see how many users are current looking into a topic page?
Luckily for us, Bee York mostly confines herself in the OIFY, but her antics prove just how much you can still get away with.
If only we had changelogs, we could just read them and see why the change was made.
AFAIK we've only banned one person from a report so far and that's because he reported like 15 posts and went on a bit of a flaming tirade against the person.
That being said what's written on there is a good guide. For trolling and the like it's usually better getting hold of a Moderator on discord or something
I'd change the text in the report box but unfortunately I don't have access
24H ban for this troller r u serious
this dude needed a month
this is literally what the relaxed rules r allowing
AGAIN
I'll just repeat that Hezzy is in the process of changing the rules. Something is being done.
okay but a day vs a week did nobody take bee york's history+ask other mods on this dudes history?
Apparently not
Permabanned, quite hard to check on people's histories at the moment
missing basic moderation functions missing
again
coins should be renamed to Good Boy Points
Hey, sorry if this has already been discussed before, but is there a consensus / official stance on the refugee camp?
I'd personally like to see it return. I saw some discussion here and there but aren't sure if it's fate is sealed.
Post history shows previous usernames, but yeah a little drop down like on Steam that shows previous usernames at a glance would be nice.
having to look at old posts isn't nearly annoying enough, mods should be required to shake down local speakeasies and small-time finks for information
Yes, it isn't returning any time soon because we're moving away from the "Bans are warnings" style of moderation and garry thought that Moderators used it to show off and act up instead of using it to explain bans.
we need to blanket ban Kiwi's, they're up to no good
an easy fix eould to make the refugee camp private and vidible only to the banned user and the mods. avoids the whole peanut gallery problem entirely and gives a place on the site for discussing bans rather than requiring users to pester mods on discord and other offsite platforms.
I'm going to be completely honest, the entire reason I asked was because I recall viewing that sub fondly.
Back in the day I made a guide (I think it was within the RC somewhere.. not sure how I posted it, maybe it got stickied for a little while) on how to make a proper ban appeal.
It was pretty thorough, I even did up graphics and a table of contents and shit.
Wound up getting a bunch of PM's from people who followed it and got unbanned. Kinda a stupid project but I enjoyed helping people.
there needs to be a way for people to appeal bans onsite.
This generally isn't the place for venting beef you have with individual users.
Point out specific posts of his you believe are breaking the rules, and if not, suggest ways the moderation policy should be changed. If you don't, the mods have nothing to go on.
Also, accusing people of harboring mental illnesses isn't very cash money of you. It's pretty shitty, actually.
What about him? He's banned. People were discussing him in this thread because, as you very well know, there was this big fiasco surrounding him and people don't want it happening again so naturally they're going to bring him up as an example in their argument.
I just spent a few minutes creeping on Feeble Oaf's post history. I can conclusively say I don't know what you're talking about. He likes the Fallout games and has some tendencies to shitpost in the OIFY, a designated shitposting zone. I'm not seeing any issues, and nothing that leads me to conclude he's mentally ill.
I think this reflects very badly on you, if anything.
Sorry, you need to Log In to post a reply to this thread.
