Forum Discussion V. "Where's the Forum Discussion thread"

As far as I know the fellow is just conservative and has dished out a few spicy ratings, and is a jokester, not much wrong with that.
Is it possible to make the official Facepunch Discord more visible when you search "Facepunch discord" on Google
Apparently the Facepunch Nintendo Discord shows up early in the search results, and no matter how many damn warnings we put up saying "THIS ISN'T A FUCKING RUST SERVER" people still come in and demand help or PM me and the other admins. Shit is infuriating.
I wonder what cigarettes intent was to call someone one only to have it back fire so horribly wrong lmao
haha ur gay
damn fucking fallout fans, they're all mentally ill trolls I say.
can you imagine the audacity someone must have to post in the fallout thread
Awe, true to Caeser. Posting in the Fallout thread is a crime against Caeser.
I don't want to make this a call out thread but I feel like it's appropriate to address something to Cigarettes given the current topic.
I can't speak for everyone but I just want to share a word with you. I'm usually not confrontational and I really don't mind anyone here in the forums in general, even the likes of Tudd and Bee York. But honestly with how you post and treat others Cig is actually a lot more bothersome.
Every thread you post on is always this contrarian attitude and point of view, and the way you convey your words always has this arrogant false sense of maturity and treat your personal anecdotes as factual wisdom. Big examples include on your average posts in the unpopular opinions thread, as well as the depression thread. You always talk down to other users like you're a better adult than everyone else while pretending you're down to earth with this 'I'm just a guy posting in a forum that's all' schtick, then proceed to talk them down further.
I even find you agreeable a bunch of times but they way you present yourself is painful. Still at the end of the day, you do you and I just move on like everyone else. However, I feel like doing this post now though because you are actually presenting a lot more bile than I thought by actually directly calling out a particular user this time, and one who's not even doing any harm to anyone.
I even remember you talking down to everyone regarding the features before the Newpunch migration and honestly it really is asinine to see you see present yourself as some wiseguy high authority who disagrees with the masses just to feel smart. But what really makes it worse right now is the fact you're directly calling out someone this time, which really takes the cake and kind of shows how much you just love hearing yourself.
There's no way to prevent Rust user stupidity, even the FP furry discord gets the occasional Rust twat. Just perma/block them immediately and move on, really.
Liar.
What makes a troll tuddlike, and how do you square your belief that they should be banned with your prior position that Tudd shouldn't have been banned?
Which is ironic because the people insulting Lambeth (and maybe ASparkles, I just glanced through the thread) are the ones not getting banned.
Maybe I'm misremembering but I thought during discussions on Tudd you were arguing that he shouldn't have been banned. If I'm wrong about that my bad.
Fair enough description. I'd say Tudd differed mostly in that he started threads and that Lambeth (and presumably ASparkles) sticks around a lot more than he did though.
But they never actually change their posting habits. They can apologize for being frustrating as much as they want, but when they refuse to stop behaving that way you have no other recourse than to assume they're tuddposting.
Especially ASparkles, who invoked the facepunch equivalent of the "everyone is typing...." meme and then just ducked out, responding to exactly one (1) post.
This is exactly why we shouldn't allow call outs in these types of threads.
Unfortunately not. I've had some great success in the main Discord by having a quarantine area that people are in for approx 20 mins. 80% of the rust dudes will land there, rant about being banned then leave before the 20 minutes is up.
If you're referring to @ASparkle , I reviewed that thread at the request of somebody on Discord. They made a single post (that contradicted the main consensus of the thread), then no posts for about a page and a half. Two people mentioned the user using the @ function in rapid succession and the user replied back saying they were too busy.
I'm all for banning shitters but this doesn't appear to be one of those times.
The other people were banned for blatantly flaming. Is there any wonder that their posts warranted being banned?
kind of a low level suggestion but when you hover over the post date it gives the time in 12hr clock format but doesnt specify am or pm, never really look at it but it's kind of annoying
So been asking for this actively since newpunch.
Popular threads.
Every time it gets mentioned, several others agree, over 6 months and nothing.
Its a simple feature, doesn't have to be perfect in the beginning and it doesn't need to be really visible. I just want this tool to be able to be more active here.
i hate to ask since it's already been answered but i've searched and found nothing relevant
so, where'd the stats page go? i assume it was removed because people were talking about how the forum was dying and such
Ghost pages have been fixed for a couple of weeks
Have they not been fixed? I haven't noticed any ghost fuckery for a while so I figured it was gone, but there's no changelog anymore so I don't know.
@garry @Hezzy ?
Nope. Half
frick
I mean we still don't have proper text parsing. If you reach the end of the window it still breaks the indentation and that's been happening for months. I'd think that'd be a small fix but apparently we're still waiting
So I just found out that it's not possible to add a quote to a post after it's already been posted. I wanted to reply to a second person I saw in the thread about Article 13, and nope, turns out quotes automatically go to the new post box, even if you have clicked the edit button on the post you want to add it to. Fantastic - yet another way the current quoting system lacks features compared to the old one.
With the new awful EU copyright laws presumably going to go into effect some time next year, will FP automatically block any posts containing

You actually can.
Hit the reply button, and write your reply. Then copy your entire reply, and paste it into the post you want to edit.
IIRC, the quote box will follow.
I don't know how the hell you're doing that. It doesn't work for me.

That has to be it, cause I followed your instructions to the letter before you even posted that video. You appear to be using Vivaldi - while I use Firefox.
Chrome should work the same as Vivaldi.
But yeah, this is like a stupid workaround anyways, so I'm not surprised that it doesn't work in all browsers.
Did custom CSS just break for anyone else?
