they don't have a size, they're vectors
Are avatar backgrounds supposed to take a long time to change? I just tried to upload a new one, supposedly went through and I lost my coins but now it's just been blank for a while.
funny is a 120x120 png though, major data hog
lmao holy shit, more and more broken crap
And the broken CSS has not been acknowledged by any mods in any of the threads about it.
I'm pretty sure I've seen some green names in the dark theme thread
forgive me if this is a known issue, but I cannot seem to dismiss notifications at all. I click the notification, read the post or whatever, go back to the home page, and it still says I have an unread notification. If I do the same thing, but also click "Mark All Read", the same thing happens. it occurs whether I have a single FP window open or multiple tabs (I thought maybe it might just have trouble updating among multiple instances of the website)
it doesn't happen every single time, but it has started to happen more often recently. after a while, the notification will finally go away, but the bell sure does hang around for a looooooong time
I mean the mods don’t work on the forums. They only enforce rules. I imagine Hezzy has already asked and Garry is working on Tub as previously mentioned in this thread!
Compassion tells me that it’s not just the users who’s suffering here. Mods are too.
theres plenty of things to complain about but how do you expect a forum moderator to know any of the technicalities of said forum? it falls on people with actual access to the backend
Aka Garry. People keep shouting at the wrong people and when they shout at who’s actually responsible it’s in the wrong way. I speculated that the forums would go poof if it kept going the way that it is and I’m still holding onto that.
Hezzy can attest. Moderators can only offer their own view and enforce the rules that are given to them. Developing the core functions still relies on one man.
it'd really help if Garry brought on a second developer to take care of technical stuff on the forums.
too bad he's explicitly rejected this suggestion before!
Expecting moderators to fix the current issues with the forums is like expecting police officers to legislate new laws or pave potholes. It's just not their role.
The real problem is that the leadership and development positions on the forum are totally vacant because Garry was doing too much himself and his focus has shifted back towards something he enjoys much more, game development.
was he too traumatized by compwhizzi
Unless there's been some massive paradigm shift, mods don't get told dick about the forums until the changes are put into effect (unless Hezzy gets some rare forewarning). Hell, when I was mod we initially thought Newpunch would go live a couple of months after it actually did; came as a complete surprise.
That was a fun day.
"When will we move over to Newpunch?"
"Probably in a couple of months."
"Oh god it's happening right now!"
Yeah, seems like scrolling works again on my phone as well.
Garry probably did that under the guise of "People are going to complain about it anyway, so let's just do it". Except with the way he treats the forums, half the features that could have been ironed out in a month got stretched out to "indefinitely".
Even the mods don't know what's going on and only have a tenth of the features that they're supposed to because Garry can't be bothered, and the mods have to put up with some annoying users on a daily basis for no money.
ive just accepted that weve slumped back into the phase of garry/hezzy being dead on the forums again for a good while no matter how broken shit gets. sooner or later the subsequent phase will come along again where they actually post
Remember it was a good deal.
