Still wondering where popular threads is
I once got banned and didn't notice until a few days after the ban ended.
still wondering where garry is he fucked off and left the forums to rot I guess
insert surprise here
this just in, software developer has more than one ongoing project, the people are in shock more at 11
well that's fine but also no way to run a forum
he isn't running it, he's developing it
surely he's running it if he's the one deciding rules
So, I was banned for flaming, but that is nowhere to be found in the rules. If you have the time to ban for it, you also have the time to add it to the stickies or the Rules page. I'd like to request that
The worst part about the ghost pages if there are 12+ pages in a thread, you can only go up by 3 pages at a time. There should be a way to enter in a precise page number, or give a buffer for first three and last 3 pages.
Did Alerts get changed? Its only showing me at most 5 things now when before it would have a big drop down list
Is there a legitimate use for the the report button anymore? I'm really confused as to why it exists when all the reasons as to why you would use it seem to be exempted from in the description of the report button.
Just wait for the reworked rules. There's no point in worrying about this right now.
Because we shouldn't have too?
This is an issue that probably literally only affects me but I thought I'd mention it anyway: if you browse this site using Opera (maybe chrome too i dont know) at a zoom of 110%, then some posts with an element like an image or twitter post in them will vibrate up and down. It's super annoying.
Can we get two threads for big events like shootings? A debate thread and an information thread for non-political shit? i generally use facepunch as a sort of collection of information, it’s hard to find that info when you’re digging through 6 pages of the same “gun bad/gun no bad” argument cycle
I used to enforce that debate shouldn't occur in the thread itself until the situation was resolved, but I don't think anyone else was lol.
Is there any sort of ETA on this? The only reason I bring it up right now is the shitposting/trolling I keep seeing.
This was a golden rule. I don't know what happened to it.
No. Hezzy's working on it, so it is happening some time soon. Changing the current rules
I get you but this is bog standard basic functionality these days.
Ye seemed like nobody could be arsed to sort it out after a while, me least of all :v
25% of people wouldn't listen/wouldn't read/too lazy. I used to edit OPs on the old forums to include "do NOT make it a political discussion/speculate until the situation has been resolved." And about half of the people who got banned by it would repeat.
Gun debate shootout thread I actually made this a long time ago with the intent of getting these arguments out of the threads so they aren't burying information, but nobody ever posted in it cuz it's in the firearms subforum where nobody who is opposed will ever see it.
Wrong person to do it. Had it been a moderator's hands and applied bans re-directing them to this very thread it would have worked. On the contrary. A moderator shouldn't have to do this either.
Give over
To be fair. If you read the rules it does say "Standard internet ettiquette applies, Moderators will use their judgement and discretion." So I can imagine you probably shouldn't flame cause that isn't etiquette. You also spent it wrong Hezzy please fix this ow my OCD.
I know this is probably way too late to ask, but were all user bookmarks on oldpunch deleted? I kept some of my favorite threads in my bookmarks and now I cant remember/find them anymore.
It looks like you messed up
