Might wanna do a function check on the magazine. The one my dad's got has feed issues.
JRAs are usually rock solid from what I’ve heard so the WW receiver is probably nothing to worry about. Make sure you shoot it enough to get out of the break-in period before judging any hiccups it might have.
Mine was a WW, built on a Nodak Spud receiver. When they went away, JRA bought the remaining stock and components. It's a good gun, you'll love it. I loved mine, and miss it. https://i.imgur.com/mZR9REn.jpg
Got a couple things in just before turkey day! Picked up a relatively complete with box, Walther PPK w/ 4 mags. https://imgur.com/oWbTE7H And my USP slide in Blue Steel: Images from Copper Custom https://imgur.com/TcljWJr https://imgur.com/xBbMDXK
Finally got to shoot my AK74 today and all I can say is i'm in love
So, what all did people pick up over the shopping weekend? I got suppressor height sights for my Sig slide ($100) Recoil spring for it ($7) Breech block for it (will ship within 1-3 months!!!) ($100) Vortex Venom reflex sight ($180) PSA 10.5" upper ($160) NiB bolt carrier group and charging handle for it ($140)
Picked up a vz26 parts kit and 10 mags for it. Not a bad project to start with. Got it off Apex. Anyone got that image of a vz26 smg with that reddot mounted on it? I want to see if the pic rail messes with the iron sights.
8x 20rd .308 Pmags a YHM .308 crush washer 10x Brownells GI 30rd CS spring magazines (on the way)
Apex is like an hour from me, but I can't order much of the stuff they have on there. Last time I did, I had it shipped to a coworker in Wyoming and he drove it down to the office one day for me.
accidentally started a P80 glock build despite no intentions to ever own a glock I couldn't not buy a full P80 frame kit for $60
I hate it when I accidentally buy gun parts. Means I have to build a whole gun.
So there is a guy near me selling a crate of 7n6 for $300 ... Is that a good price?
The 350$ (+200$ in blood money) BSO "integrally" suppressed .300 BLK upper also came reallly close to buying the 550$ Howa Precision .308/A*B arms chassis combo KYgunco was running but I decided to be a "responsible adult" and not do that lol
Fuck me, meant to type can, its the 1080 rounds
in that case then no (unless you just really like 7N6) SGA has better deals going on currently even factoring in shipping

Hey Gents and ladies, I have a fictional weapon from star wars. You may ask why im asking in this thread about it. Im essentially just trying to find out what modern weapon its based on or if it's entirely fictional. The drawing is from 1989. Tell me if im wrong thinking it might be based on the british SA80? https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/d/d3/KX-60_Blaster_Rifle.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20091111070149
Certainly goes. Got take a look at Forgotten Weapon's videos on SA80 prototypes.
Yeah I'd say SA80 with maybe a little G11 flair thrown in
Picked up my VP9, love the fucking thing.
So, i'm wanting to build a 5.45 AK pistol and i'm thinking of buying the receiver, have it registered as a pistol ofc and then buy a 74 barrel and have it chopped down. Only issue is, I read that barrels shorter than 16 inches need a 1:6 twist rate, not 1:8 like normal 74's.. is this true? If so, where the hell do I find a 74 barrel with an 1:6 twist rate?
It's somewhat true. A lot of times when you shorten a barrel you need a faster twist rate in order to stabilize the projectile in such a short distance, hence why the Sig Rattler runs a 1/5 in .300 blk. You are honestly going to be very hard pressed to find a 5.45 barrel with that twist rate, and why care? Unless you're trying to nip hairs off a flys ass at 100 yards its really not going to matter if the end goal is to have a blaster. The only concern I'd have is if you're chopping down the barrel and its chrome lines make sure to take it to a reputable gunsmith. If the chrome lining gets chipped then whatever accuracy you could have gotten is gone out the window. If it's not chrome lined I wouldn't worry too much,
Barrel length shouldn't have any serious effect on twist rate. You also don't need to register anything unless you live in one f the few states that require registration.
specialized purposes are the whole reason to deviate from the norm. .45 ACP beats out 9mm for decibel ratings in suppressor hosts .40 S&W, .45 GAP, .357 SIG, etc. have high ammo commonality with certain local police forces, meaning supply will never dry up in their respective jurisdictions .357 SIG has a highly concussive muzzle blast and thus has the highest rate of one-shot stops due to psychological effects .380 and weaker can be made straight blowback without significant downsides, meaning the gun can be smaller, lighter, and mechanically simpler magnum cartridges are more versatile, and can be used for defense against both 2 legged and 4 legged predators, and can be used to hunt humanely. .22lr makes for great training anything else is trying to fill a very specific market niche (5.7, .327 fed mag), is a gimmick (.32 NAA, .50 AE, .22 mag), or is outdated but still used because people still have the guns (.44 SPC, .45 Long Colt, 9x18)
Looking it up, someone was suggesting the 1:6 twist is so they can stabilise long 80gr subsonic bullets.
Pffft, Not listing 10mm
10mm is best mm of all mm https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/342238/19d13aaa-744a-4b31-b07b-f8110b841a0a/image.png
My dad is thinking about trading in his VP40 for a VP9, have you handled both? His biggest complaint is the recoil but everything else about it works like a charm I just recently went and got a Sig P938 for concealed carry and I'm absolutely in love, except reassembly is a fuuuckin pain for some reason
10mm falls under specific market niche. it doesn't do anything .357 magnum can't do, but is blessed with a much shorter case length and rimless design.
What part of P938 reassembly are you having difficulty with? Finally, after about a month of waiting after submitting my fingerprints, I got my G-number- so I'm not a dead-weight at my LGS job. I can finally do paperwork and not just clean and bullshit with people at the counter.
