Went to the shop to look at some rimfire scopes to toss on the 10/22. Spent some cash, left the store, got outside and opened the box. Damnit!

Now I've got an M&P9 Pro, a G43, and a Sig Sauer Mk25 on layaway at the shop.. And eyeing a CZ Dan Wesson ECO 9mm. I'm never going to make any money at this rate.

Is that a metal trigger guard I see?
Yep, from what I can tell it's from '97, the year I was born.
Nice! About a year and a half ago I found a 1980 production at the local shop on consignment, so I picked up that up right away.
strapped on some extra weight to my 88' Bulgarian AK-74. searched far and wide to find a grenade launcher replica. much less a flare launcher or something. totally useless but i thought it would look interesting to have a 'paperweight' GP-30 replica. running it with my izzy RPK mag and izzy furniture (just changed the stock to izzy plum, not yet pictured)

still need to modify the replica, the handle seems too long and I plan to weather it, as the RL ones always seem to lose their bluing after a short while.
I thought of doing the exact same thing when I had my '74. Was going to buy an airsoft one that clamps on to the barrel.
yea it makes 74's look pretty neat i'd have to say, but man was it such a challenge to even find one. I think most types of ak-grenade launcher replicas are discontinued too. but my particular one was a King Arms GP-30
Bonus points if you just keep a toblerone bar in there for competitions
Sometimes in the middle of a rimfire competition I open up my magpul stock and take a chunk out of the kit kat bar before setting it back inside to intimidate other competitors
man i always forget that people were born that recently
yo gramps, got any cool muskets to show the whippersnappers?
Turned out to be made in '94 anyways.
Wait, what? Have you actually got an RPG7?
Since everyone else is posting family photos.. Keep in mind this is not all of my guns, simply the ones made by FNH

It's the real deal from Bulgaria, made in 1982 and has serial number "666" on the tube. It is currently demilled with rubber warhead, so it's more of a wall-hanger now than anything. Even if I could front the money to reactivate it, I wouldn't trust it to not take my head off when firing it.
Saw a really early model Hi-Point for sale.
The fucker weighed 9 pounds.
really digging the yugo AK . bonus with the slabside mag and the wartime furniture. love the mag art too.
also, I love the retro AR-build. you got quite a handsome collection there.
Took a few photos to update for my insurance records.

Normally I don't have much to complain about when it comes to Canada's gun laws, but man do I ever wish I could own an AUG here. They look freaking awesome.
I have a lot to complain about with our gun laws. All the time. Endlessly.
I want an AK, a PPK, and a FAL, and fuck Jean Chretien for telling me I can't have them.
I want a FAL and fuck John Howard for telling me I can't.
So I'm interested in buying a gun at some point in the future, and I've taken an interest in old black powder revolvers. I don't own any guns, but I have fired several different types of pistol, all with varying rounds. Would it be ill-advised to go with an affordable black powder replica revolver right off the bat, or do you guys think I should start out with something more modern until I get a "feel" for shooting?
Have you done any research into black powder shooting and related firearms?
Unless you've done a huge amount of research and can explain everything on a BP revolver, it probably shouldn't be your first gun. There's alot less to go wrong when firing cased ammo, when with BP an easy mistake such as double loading or adding too much powder can turn it into a hand grenade.
They're fun if you have the experience and willingness to take care of one, but you should get used to basic firearm handling first.
As I do agree with this to some extent, if you are a competent human being and can realize the dangers of a BP firearm (ALL FIREARMS ARE DANGEROUS) then you should be in the clear. Do your research on ANY gun you buy, ever, period.
First thing I would do, find a local range or a buddy with a firearm ( who is competent and knows the 5 rules of firearm safety when you ask him what they are ) and then learn the rules(you can google this too), I'd start with a Glock 17 or a Beretta M9/92 as a first pistol to examine and get familiar with. They are easy guns to take apart, understand and shoot, this doesn't mean go buy one, but definitely rent one at a range. Ask them to show you the basics, takedown, assembly and the "safeties" (quotes because glock has internal safeties and a trigger safety). As far as your first purchase, that is entirely up to you and how much faith you have in yourself to NOT shoot yourself, someone else or blow up a BP gun. Think of the price of ammo, percussion caps and the lack of simplicity too, a 9mm Semi auto handgun costs $20 for 100 rounds of cheap but safe ammunition. Hell even a .22 wouldn't be a bad start but you won't learn recoil control very well.
the Pietta Model 1858 New Army is a good, cheap and won't just magically go Ka-boom BP revolver for the money. However these do require you to know what the hell you are doing, measuring powder, loading the ball and being aware of the percussion cap being a liability at any time the hammer gets bumped on it. Some of these BP revolvers, people actually recommend smothering grease(normally its white lithium) over the front of the cylinder in order to prevent an accidental discharge from another round in the cylinder ( I do not know statistics or firearms, I just know people have done this in the past, do your research! )

Ready to run through the jungle. From now on it's just a matter of finding more buttons for the sling. I want to come up with some old CCR stickers or stencils for the furniture too. If I can find a nice repro of the scope that'll go on too.

Lol, how pathetic and salty.
I don't follow Ian that closely. What's the whole thing about?
