I'll post this again since it was last post on the previous page: Defense Against Bears with Pistols
Ideally I would love the idea of a Desert Eagle in 44 Remington for that purpose since I already got a Winchester chambered in it. It costs way too much though
Well, the day I ever get charged by a bear, no matter what gun I have. I'm just gonna pull the trigger as quick as I can into center mass, I mean shit that's all you really CAN do when facing something that can bit your bones into pieces.
I went firing and training with the Green Berets here in Niger and one of them passed me his M4 to try out. This was the slickest rifle I have ever shot with a nice suppressor, stock, Eotechs and magpul grip but my favorite part wasn't it being fully automatic compared to my Carbine but the ambidextrous safety selector on both sides of the lower receiver. If anyone can tell me what this suppressor is that's be awesome. picload.org | 20190131_142756.jpg
Could it be this? Same general profile, color, and indents. Surefire is also a common name when it comes to Special Forces equipment.
Yeah that's it, that thing is fucking slick.
Making progress with Uzi: https://i.imgur.com/sxxTzLi.jpg The pistol grip pin isn't fitting however, (the empty hole shown in the picture) because the holes won't line up. Not sure how I'll fix that.... Might just end up using a regular bolt and nut. Aside from that, I am still waiting on McKay to make more semi auto bolt assemblies, and then I'll file a form 1 and get a barrel for this bad boy.
it'll take black bear any day. I'd prefer .44 mag at minimum for brown or bigger.
Has anyone here from Canada ever handled the Canuck Railed 1911? I think the american version is the Tisas Railed 1911. I know they are made in turkey and from what I hear they are good but would rather hear some first hand experience. Looking for a nice single stack railed 1911 for a good price and besides the big Canuck billboard on the side of the slide they seem to fit the bill.
So, been trying to decide on what 9mm to carry in my Glock 19 when I pick it up in a couple months. I loved underwood ammo for my 10mm and I'm running the 180 grain(Or 165? I can't remember right now) speer gold-dots. I was looking into the same thing for the 9mm but I'm pretty confused as to what I should get. They have +P+ 147 grain, +P+ 124 grain and +P 124 grain. The +P+ 124 has the highest Ft-Lbs and highest FPS but wouldn't the 147 grain be a better projectile due to the extra mass of the bullet? I know that shot placement is key, which everyone should know, but highest stopping power/stopping factor is a concern for me as well. All I know is that +P+ ammo is past SAAMI specs or out of spec and that +P is max loaded to SAAMI specs but then not everyone uses these specifications anyway for ammo? Why must the internet be a cesspool of over abundant and mostly useless information when it comes to this stuff? +P+ 147 https://www.underwoodammo.com/products/9mm-luger-plus-p-plus-147-grain-bonded-jacket-hollow-point?variant=7865903775801 +P+ 124 https://www.underwoodammo.com/products/9mm-luger-plus-p-plus-124-grain-bonded-jacket-hollow-point?variant=7865903743033 +P 124 https://www.underwoodammo.com/products/9mm-luger-p-124-grain-bonded-jacketed-hollow-point?variant=7865904201785
+P+ is never worth it. The performance boost, if any, is minimal compared to +P. Stick with the standard pressure or +P ammo with a bonded bullet. Hornady is also a good choice.
+P is the hottest I go, but you also have to consider that the bullets start failing at the higher speeds and they will expand faster, giving you less penetration. If you want some of their nuclear loads, use the extreme defender. This is a 185gr hollowpoint in a .460 Rowland doing 1,500 FPS illustrating the problem with over driving pistol bullets: http://www.protectingthesecondamendment.com/wp-content/uploads/mvbthumbs/img_23178_460-rowland-cor-bon-185gr-jhp-ballistic-gelatin-slow-motion-300x225.jpg I'd have linked the video, but many of this channel's videos went private due to probable youtube shenanigans: https://www.youtube.com/user/BrassFetcher/videos
I do like the Xtreme defenders after looking at some ballistics as far as the penetration and wound channel, it seems they actually outperform the gold dots in 9mm. It's just so crazy how every bullet reacts differently in different calibers, like with super hot 10mm loads, the gold dot and Xtreme Defender/Penetrators actually end up being about the same. But in 9mm, it's a whole different ballgame(bulletgame?). It makes it a little difficult to pick a round, cause now it's a factor of, do I want a standard hollow point that will do it's job under the right circumstances? Or solid copper that will have the same effectiveness per shot with not much deviation, which makes everything rely back on shot placement.

It's rock solid and perfectly shaped... most repros have the wrong angle at the iron which makes the sights unusable. This one is exact. The chip missing from the very very end of the stock at the neck is my fault, I knocked it off my desk while I had the iron off for fitting. If anyone else has a C96 that needs a stock, let me know and I'll give you the link for this one.
The stock charging handle is ambi if you use 2 fingers.
LWRC makes an ambi CH that's roughly similar to the stock CH it does still have extended latch wings though. BCM gunfighter MOD A44 is in the same *roughly similar but not* category as well. Maybe someone else can chime in if there's a better option cause I'm firmly in the *gamer gear* category cause I run radian raptors on all but one of my AR's lol

have u ever wanted to put together something shitty just to see what it would look like https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/230258/69be1404-30e9-4b3e-9fcb-b2db4a1d160a/IMG_20190211_210706071.jpg dear lord
I finished my AR build today. Really happy with how it turned out! Was supposed to be a budget build.. oh well! https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/242433/cf4935f3-e1b0-474d-a12c-c16bad198d4c/AR_Build_5.png
Remind me how much I wish I could own one. We're had a few good reversals in recent years. One state now allows Cat C shotguns for IPSC (so semi and pump-action shotguns under 5 rounds mag capacity) and another state recently removed calibre restrictions from IPSC handgun. There's a bit of trouble in Queensland though; some guys registered some AR15 carbines as handguns and are in court over it. Queensland allows handguns with stocks but QldPOL are trying to argue they don't count. The outcome will be interesting.
I adopted this I've been wanting to get a 92FS for so long, basically stole it considering it is brand new. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/230446/f613cd25-bc29-43a9-a8c1-e6d3a35118ec/20190215_185824[288].jpg I really love the feel of it
92fs is definitely on my short list. I'd love to get my hands on an inox but they go for way too much for just a meme gun.

I've always wanted a Billenium Edition; that said, if you want a better 92, get a 92G, IMO the Brigadier series 92s are the best. https://laststandonzombieisland.files.wordpress.com/2014/06/rare-beretta-billennium.jpg
Every time I see this fore-grip I want it to be the other way around. I run it slanting forwards on my Gas Airsoft gun (no comparison to real firearms I know) but it just feel and looks right.
First semi-auto handgun, put together a basic bitch P80 G17. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/294604797217079298/546415145761505300/20190216_143830.jpg
Picked up my Canuck 1911, the Fit and finish on it is pretty top notch, stiff as any 1911 when you first get it but smooth. No gritty feel to it and the trigger is surprisingly light with little take up. Slapped some VZ Operator Grips on it as the original wood ones, while nice looking, were too bulky and smooth. Overall, for the last couple days I have handled it, really happy with it, can't wait to see how it shoots. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/171109/86506437-d867-42c7-b700-0070dbf8a1b9/20190216_172728.jpg
That is pretty sharp looking - the second handgun I ever bought was a 1911. It was made by citadel, I think i paid 399 for it at the time. They're just a lot of fun to shoot. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/230446/3a423c51-3de3-48f2-9d6b-a258d34145d6/image.png
if you prefer it that way its because you're using it wrong.
